In Puchong, if you've ever had cravings for porridge in the morning, you could go to the Teo Chew Porridge there. But what if you stay in Segambut? We googled and googled repeatedly, using the word "Night Porridge ", "Evening Congee", etc etc until this restaurant's name came up! It opens only at 6pm and has Tuesday as its rest day. Unfortunately we went on a Wednesday and found it SHUT as well. Why?? Still, we went again on Thursday and it opened! The dishes are simple and you can order anything to pair with rice or white rice porridge. The proprietor, a kindly chubby lady would go to your table with a notepad and jot down your dishes. After you are done eating , just call for her to come over and you pay her. She carries a QR card too, in case you want to pay by Touch n Go. Overall, food is tasty, ambience is like a five foot way where you sit under the stars and the constant rumbling sound of the MRT passing above you twenty feet away every twenty minutes or so. The place opens till 2am in the morning and she has lots of foreign helpers to ensure prompt service and clearance of tables once...
Read moreAfter the loss of a few Teochew Porridge shops at SS15 and PJ area, never had it for a while until randomly bumped into this place after meeting up my friend at AEON Kepong. My friend took a nice big Promfet and some veggies, I took mixture of meat and veggies, about 5-6 types in small portion, both of us order thier red bean soup. The price was RM34 for both of us, including the red bean soup. Overall nice food quality, competitive pricing. The environment is your typical kopitiam settings, good food, good price, definitely into my list of everyday dinner. Keep in mind that they took off on every alternate Tuesday, as far as I know at this point of time. They look more like a fusion of mixed rice n Teochew Porridge shop. Most importantly good quality and affordable food, must try if you...
