Nasi Kerabu Jalan Gombak — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

I would love to give more stars but big disappointment to buy on 5 Mar 2025 at 4pm+. 3 packs of nasi kerabu where 1 is ayam percik, 1 is kambing bakar and lastly daging bakar + ayam bakar.

Can you imagine opening the pack and saw only blue rice and the meat?! None at all the usual nasi kerabu condiments in the pack. See the photos many posted here has but disappointingly ours were none. Not even sauce or sambal.

The order was taken and then the guy turned towards the back to do the packing so we can't see what was packed.

First time trying this and yet such a disappointment. I do have to admit the meats were all very tasty. Just that felt cheated on not getting the normal nasi kerabu except blue rice.

The nasi kerabu served here has a delightful presentation, with its vibrant blue rice and assortment of fresh herbs, sambal, and side condiments. However, the mutton was a bit of a letdown. While the portion size was generous, the meat was not well-marinated, leaving it bland and lacking the depth of flavor expected from a dish like this. The texture was also a bit chewy, which made the overall experience less enjoyable.

That said, the other elements of the nasi kerabu were well-executed, with the fresh vegetables and savory sauces complementing the dish beautifully. If they can improve the seasoning and tenderness of the mutton, this would elevate the meal significantly.

I will come again for sure!...

Great place for breakfast Kelantan style. Genuine Kelantan flavour, served Nasi kerabu, Nasi dagang, Nasi putih gulai ayam and it's trademark are kambing bakar. Variety of Kelantan kuih too.

Parking are quiet hard to find, need to park at curb side at bus stop stand. The pricing are fair with their lot of portion.
