This hidden steakhouse gem in Desa Petaling isn’t somewhere we would’ve discovered on our own—big thanks to my relatives for the recommendation. We were genuinely surprised by how crowded it was when we arrived, nearly a full house. It seems to be a local favorite, especially among nearby residents.
The menu offers a wide range of choices, but I feel the pricing doesn’t always align with the portion or quality, particularly for some food and drinks.
I had the sizzling chicken chop, which unfortunately arrived without the signature sizzle. Taste-wise, it was just average—nothing particularly memorable, but decent enough if you’re not expecting anything fancy.
The longan jelly drink was a bit underwhelming. Only a few longan pieces at the bottom, and the syrup wasn’t properly dissolved even after stirring for a while.
The pineapple fried rice had good portion size but lacked the bold flavor typically brought by turmeric, which is usually the star of the dish. A touch of that would’ve elevated the whole plate.
On a brighter note, they had a buy 1 free 1 promo for shark fin soup during our visit, and the service was commendable—quick and with attentive staff throughout.
It would be great if they could provide meatless / vegetarian options.
Overall, it’s a decent spot for a casual meal, especially if you’re in the area, but there’s room for improvement in both execution and...
Read moreFood is way over hyped I've been here multiple times. I would say their system is bad and needs a rehaul but they dont have a system. As per their name its the wild west out here they'll throw anything on any table without a care. Its too densely packed for its own good if you can't server the people don't seat them. Also the fake powder "organic soya milk" at the very least stir it till the powders fully dissolve before trying to make us pay RM 6 bucks for a cup of milk that has zero soya flavour. Workers are incompetent not at their fault though. The management is needs to really take a long hard look at how the floor is being run and fix it!
The price is fine for the portion sizes.
I would like to rescind my comment on the food. It's worse than I thought it was. The chicken was fine but what the hell is that salted egg sauce it wasn't even salty just slightly egg flavoured. And the fish and chips sauce to fillet ratio is appalling. Its literally just a dollup of sauce and a plate sized fillet what in the world cause you to think...
Read moreIt may look like your average neighborhood Western food joint, but Old Western CowBoy Steak House is anything but average!
I wandered in with friends on a Friday night, and was immediately greeted by the amazing crowds and incredible aroma of chicken chop. The restaurant was filling up quickly (it was almost 7:00 pm) but we managed to snag a table.
We ordered the chicken chop with mushrooms sauce and the chicken chop with cheesy sauce. The mushrooms were little bombs of buttery, earthy goodness, and the fries was robust but not overpowering.
The overall taste was crisp, flavorful, and chewy. The toppings worked together beautifully. The mushrooms and gravy were packed with flavor, and the cheesy sauce had a great consistency and very little oil.
However, on my own personal note, I would say the price is rather high for a lower establishment. Nevertheless, there wouldn't be much chance to stay longer to enjoy the...
