Taman Tugu Cafe & Catering (Fish Head Curry & Ayam Kampung) — Restaurant in Kuala Lumpur

We came here for breakfast on a weekday around 10am. Parking is easy as the place is quite empty at this hour. There are many staff around but none seem to be interested to help us with our orders. We were wondering around trying to ask for Fish Head Curry and finally we found a staff preparing fish heads. She just told us all these are booked and we had to ask again how can we order one for dining in now. She went and ask another staff and that guy just answered rudely, TAK ADA, BELUM SIAP! So in the end we found out that after 11am only we can get Fish Head Curry. Since we are already there, we tried some other food that was ready. Take whatever you want on your own and bring it to your table. Someone will come and check what you have taken. Pay at the counter when you are done. Great selection for the Nasi Campur, everything was very tasty except what I think was fried fish roe (my mistake, I didn't know what it was - wouldn't have picked it up if I knew). The pinky-brown chilli sauce/sambal is where it's at! Grab yourself a huge bowl of this to slather over everything. Had to order the fish head curry of course. It was really great however, I feel like perhaps the price does not reflect the amount of food you get. We chose an 86 ringgit piece, which was a middle size, but we kept digging & digging for more meat in the end. The broth was delicious. To me it had almost a spicy butter chicken taste, which I loved. Atmosphere was great. Delicious Fish head curry (malay style) I've tried Jenahak and Grouper...Terbaik. Delicious ayam kampung goreng (do come early for this as it will not be available after lunch time) and the pisang goreng and keledek goreng... And for some munching after food, i like the salty peanuts next to the payment counter. Price was slightly on the high side but then it depends on what size of fish head you took (they displayed the price for you to choose before you proceed and also how many ayam kampung goreng you took). Nice environment with trees around the area. Parking space during lunch time is limited... Definitely in one of my favourite eating place list. Been here at least 6 times. Never...
