I usually don't give full 10/10 ratings but if I could give an 11/10, I would. Celebrated my wife's birthday here and everything was perfect. There really is nothing I/we would have wanted differently.
The food was amazing. We ordered the Matsu Omakase with a Great Salad and drinks. Beef quality was very good and the mix of marbled and lean cuts the chef chose suited us well without having an overload of fatty richness you get from too much marbling. Desserts were spot on as well. The portion was 'just nice'... Hara Hachi Bu :)
What ties in the good food to make it an 11/10 is really the whole experience. Environment is all thumbs up. Easy parking in basement too). Staffs are VERY well trained. A big shout out to Olivia who served our table. Friendly, great attitude, knowledgeable about the food and grilled everything perfectly. However, it wasn't just Olivia but all the staff including the Trainees who helped serve our table. Compliments to Yakiniku Great for building such a good team. It really shows.
This is not a cheap meal of course but I've tried other yakiniku establishments in the Klang Valley and this is the best so far and by far. Very much reminds me and my wife of similar high quality experiences we had in Japan. Well worth the money spent.
Thank you for making my wife's birthday dinner PERFECT. We will be back...
Read moreCan conclude as that it’s not really worth it. Even though many famous people came here for food but for me ordinary people spend RM 1000+ for two people, you can get a much better experience elsewhere. Now as many others have said the meat quality is excellent. If you go to any other Omakase, it’s a complete experience. Here? No, it’s only the meat. You have to order sides. From the second cut onwards, we couldn’t tell the difference. I mean it was super tender and everything but again, not distinct enough in terms of flavor. Ironically, we happened to like the cheapest cut the most! The staff are friendly but it’s not what you expect from a restaurant at this price. It’s like a kindergarten rather than a fine dining experience. The staff should elaborate where each cut comes from and how rare it is etc. Basically build up to the experience, but instead they sing one two three, uno dos tres while grilling. It might entertain kids but this is no place for kids. I won’t be coming back, at least not for the “Omakase”. For this kind of money, you can have 3-4 times more dry aged steak! For the Salad 1st time was serving the white corn, when we re order charging the same price but give normal corn the reason in white corn finish then simply serve other corn for customer, this is not nice or fair...
Read moreWe had the omakase by the table at Yakiniku Great during our honeymoon in Kuala Lumpur, and it was an unforgettable experience! The service was absolutely wonderful—our waiters, Wawa and Rana, were not only incredibly kind and polite but also attentive and thoughtful throughout the evening. They presented each course beautifully, turning the preparation into a performance that was as delightful to watch as it was to taste. The food itself was a true journey of flavors, with every serving somehow topping the last. Chefs Aaron and Nizam were present throughout the meal, ensuring that each cut of meat was perfectly prepared and exquisitely presented. Their dedication made the whole experience feel personal and special. To end the evening, Harry, another member of the team, surprised us with a Polaroid photo of me and my wife as a keepsake of our honeymoon dinner—a gesture that touched us deeply. Overall, Yakiniku Great exceeded every expectation. The combination of world-class food, warm hospitality, and genuine care from the entire team made this one of the most memorable dining experiences of our lives. I wholeheartedly recommend Yakiniku Great to anyone visiting Kuala Lumpur. A heartfelt thank you to Wawa, Rana, Harry, Aaron, and Nizam for making our honeymoon dinner so...
