南泰茶餐室 Nam Thye Kopitiam — Restaurant in Malacca

One of the friendliest restaurants! The lady boss is full of smiles and warmth when speaking to you. A proud family-owned restaurant, they sell nasi lemak and bee hoon early in the morning when they open at 7 am. We went at 12:30ish so they only had fish and chicken chop left.

Half-boiled eggs and roti bakar are their specialties. The chicken chop I'll rate it average as the chicken wasn't salted and spiced nicely and the black pepper sauce was not rich enough.

My mood plummeted. A place known for its traditional breakfast served me a half-cooked egg that was overdone and unappetizing. I struggled to remove the overcooked yolk, drained the excess liquid, added some soy sauce, and forced myself to eat this breakfast that completely ruined my morning. . This meal completely shattered my previously good mood. The restaurant was nearly empty, probably nearing closing time, which might explain the lack of care. . At checkout, my displeased face and the untouched egg yolk clearly didn’t catch the staff’s attention. . She seemed to overlook it entirely, offering no apology or inquiry. But then again, if they had any concern, they wouldn’t have served such a “perfect” breakfast in the first place. . It seems that in their effort to save cost of a single egg, this place managed to drive away a regular customer who has no intention of returning. . Sure, they might still have loyal patrons, but remember, the world of good food is vast and varied; there’s no need to hang around a place that lacks sincerity to serve,...

Place is clean. Friendly staff especially the shop owner. Went on Sunday morning, quite full but no need queue to get table which is good. Food is good and price is cheap. Roti kaya butter, half boiled eggs, nasi lemak, fried mee/meehoon, chicken rice ball, etc. Nasi lemak only RM1 and it's nice! Their homemade onde-onde also nice.
