Roselle Coffee House (Lexis Hibiscus PD) — Restaurant in Negeri Sembilan

Didn't deserve even 1 Star but unfortunately 0 Star is not offered in this rating.

I understand that most eateries are just beginning to restart their respective services due to the reopening of the economic sector during C19 Pandemic-Endemic phases and I gladly appreciate & accept each eateries' drop in efficiency during this early stages but this particular outlet's strategies are totally unacceptable and below par.

Reasons for the above mentioned dissatisfaction are:

1. Misleading Identification of Buffet Theme... The Mondays to Thursdays International Buffet shouldn't be called international when "International" tonight (Thursday night) is only represented by 1 plain pasta, 1 bread type WITHOUT BUTTER option, a few salad offerings & a few cakes;

2. Dishonesty... Waitress lying to me stating that the butter supplies are already out of stock but one of the buffet table coordinators supplied me with some butter when I requested some butter from her a few minutes after asking the same from the above mentioned waitress;

3. Very limited choices... For a premium priced alleged "International" themed buffet there are a very very few different options of dishes offered... In fact only half of the Buffet Table was used to offer the dishes, the other half was empty and off limits to the patrons;

4. Overpriced... MYR90 charged per head (Adult) is too expensive for the very limited choices of dishes offered (please refer to the previous paragraph);

5. Not Systematic Flow... Traffic flow around Buffet Table is narrow and there is no specific guide as to the directional flow of the lanes artificially created.

IMHO buffet with very limited choices like this one should be priced not more than MYR50 per head.

For a 5 Star rated facility as this place that commands a premium for buffet charges, unless the relevant department takes immediate steps to rectify the mess highlighted above, I'm very sorry to say that this eatery is highly Overated and ridiculously Overpriced.

Hopefully the relevant department takes immediate & drastic measures to do whatever is necessary to reinstate the high quality and delicious buffets you were once famous for.

As we had reached the resort during lunch, we directly head towards Roselle for our lunch. We ordered ala carte dishes. The food and service was top notch. We were served by Mr. Ram who was very attentive with a pleasant demeanour. We tried meatless burger, satay, kids burger and dish which I forgot the name. The portions were quite big so couldn't finish. And we managed to get it packed for finishing it later.

We also had the international buffet dinner at this place. We had a vegeterian in our group and there were not much vegeterian options. But one of the guys (Mr. Suresh Nair) took note and arranged a vegeterian noodle on his own initiative. It was a busy evening for the restaurant but all the attendants were on their courteous best. The non-vegeterian and desert spread was nice. Kids enjoyed it a lot.

We had the buffet breakfast here. And they had a wide spread from local delicacies to indian tandoori chicken. If we had any grouse regarding limited vegetarian options for the dinner buffet, that was more than what we could savour for breakfast.

Looking forward to more...

Ala carte menu during dinner. We were greeted by friendly staffs. They are concerned that we would need to wait long because they serve buffet for night as well. We were told, food waiting time about 40min. Not really a long waiting, food was quick and tasty. We were served complimentary fruits while waiting.

On the other hand, if I were to review their buffet breakfast… hmm… variety is poor for a high class resort! Inadequate supply of food to meet the number of guests… I would suggest to allow other restaurants to serve complimentary breakfast as well…

My star rating is supposed to be 5 for dinner because of the staffs (I think if I remember correctly, his name is Suman) and its Ala carte dinner menu. 1 star deducted is because of the breakfast, can’t find beef or lamb served (good for multi racial) and speed of replenishment is sadly too slow! If it wasn’t because of Benjo (loved his job, friendly and helpful), I would have rated even lower...
