We arrived at about 7.15pm. Only few tables were occupied. But by the time we were finished eating, the restaurant was 90% occupied. Seemed to be a popular family spot for dinner here in Kuantan. The food was good but a bit different cooking style than the one in KL. Taste wise really different. Petola with eggs dish is not that common in KL. Especially in Chinese restaurants. The sitiawan steamed fish with lots of red onions was also different. This dish is rm44, fish is fresh, small portions, but probably the key thing is the way it was prepared. So can’t quite figure out if we liked it or not. It is their signature dish. We felt it had too much of raw onions on top. The salted egg squid was standard. Portions is small, but just nice for 2 pax. One thing, they’re very generous with minced raw garlic and sliced chili 🌶️ padi. Total we have paid was RM 88 for 2 pax including drinks)

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Kuantan. In my impression, the fried squid and tofu are very delicious. You can also eat Shanshui silky tofu pudding here. But the cooking fume system in the kitchen is connected to the ditch, so the smell of cooking fume will come out from the ditch, which slightly affects the eating experience. In the afternoon the restaurant is very cool with the natural wind. No card payments allowed. Overall this is a Chinese restaurant worth trying.

The food is sooooo good. Open and airy atmosphere as the restaurant is located right in the corner of the street. 2 of us ordered 1 fried rice (7rm) and garlic fried pork rice (10rm). Side dishes omelette, garlic fried vege, 1 fried pork. All are affordable price. At the beginning we thought the portion would be small because the price is cheap. It turns out like a feast for both of us. Fortunately we finished them all.

The portion doesn’t justify the price. We had 12 pax and the portion for each dishes served were only enough for 4-5 pax. The owner didn’t suggest or inform us about the portion, only telling us ordering 6-7 dishes is sufficient for all of us. The prices also caught us off guard that it cost us almost RM500 and we were not even 60% full. Definitely a tourist trap since not all Chinese restaurants open on...
