Wanting to find a place that we could have some Chinese cooking for dinner at Sungai Lembing, my gf found Sungai Lembing Mining Restaurant on the internet, with some good reviews. With a lack of choice in the small town of Sungai Lembing, we decided to give it a try, and we were not disappointed.
The shop is obviously more oriented to serve larger groups of eaters, as there is only one small table that can fit four people, while the others are large tables, easily able to accommodate ten people each. When we reached there at around 6:45pm, there was already a couple sitting at the small table, so we had to sit at a larger table. We soon requested to change to the smaller table once the couple left.
For meat, we ordered Garlic Roasted Pork, mainly due to being unable to try the Ah Ding Sungai Lembing Roasted Pork. Succulent roasted pork enhanced by the fragrance of fried garlic and the heat of red chilli, garnished with green onion and cilantro, and it was quite enjoyable.
Sungai Lembing is famous for putting "mountain water" into everything, be it noodles, doufuhua or tofu, and allegedly they are better than their "normal water" counterparts. So we ordered their signature Minced Meat Tofu. Fried soft tofu topped with minced pork cooked in soy sauce, also garnished with green onion and cilantro. The tofu was extremely soft and silky, which we very much enjoyed.
To complete the meal, we also ordered the simple Stir Fried Potato Leaves. This is a very common dish in many Chinese restaurants. It is simple, unremarkable, yet enjoyable.
The waitresses in the shop were very friendly and helpful. The waiting time for dishes to be served is on the longer side. For us, we waited about 20 minutes for our dishes to be served. It is possible that dishes were cooked in turn by a single chef. Patience is advised.
Overall, the experience here was an enjoyable one, and their prices were also reasonable. A place that you can definitely...

We were there with almost no crowd ir possible low season and was raining. The roof made of aluminium awning so it was a bit noisy during rain. Hard to chat with friends. A big flat area for car park next to it but only our car there. Then we call the bos and expressed our wish to eat here, suddenly all workers appear and was serve well..the nam yue pork belly was awesome, crisped outside melt inside kind. The tomato noodle also great. Price was ok too. They have free flow of fresh water from hill. Will visit again. Calm...
