A place suitably only to sleep for a night stopover (small and windowless rooms) and the location is far from the town
My trip to Kuala Kangsar recently brought me to this hotel for the first time. Being one of the only a few lodgings in Kuala Kangsar which take bookings prior 3 to 4 months of my stay, I decided to book for 3 days and 2 nights on weekend.
The only best thing about this hotel or I would say, its saving grace, was the front desk manager. A woman in 40s, she's friendly, always put on a sweet smile (which should be a role model to the other female and male front desk staffs I met earlier), informative, and would help in any way she could if i ask for a help or in need of something within the scope of the hotel.
However she was not the person in charge when I first checked in so I failed to get the reasonable answers to why my room rates were different than the one mentioned when I made the booking 3 months earlier. When I made the telephone booking arrangements earlier, the receptionist failed to mention about the exact rates and the different rates between weekdays and weekend days. Being a person who travel extensively, it is normal for me to ask for this to suit my budget.
A sejadah to pray in whatever littletight space you can fit yourself inside the hotel room is another thing i would love to praise the hotel for.
With the family room which rate at RM125.00 per night, i was hoping for a good deal like what I used to get with the same price when I stay somewhere else. Inside the family room a LCD tv and a standard bathroom available. The rest that needs improvement:
The Beds - the springs poked my back.. for 3 days, it wasnt comfortable to just lying on the bed. I was afraid about the spring poking out if children decided to jump on it.
Pest control and old Bed frames - bed frames must be from other old hotels because some of the frames are broken/rotted and I had to endured what we local called Semut Mayat which came out of the bed frames and feasted on whatever food and fruits i failed to keep tightly close.
Hangers - no hangers available to hang the clothes. One or two would make a different to a life of me especially the clothes which need to be iron and hang.
There's only one steel bar on the wall to hang clothes, enough for a person but not for the rest of the family members. Yup no hangers and now limited space to hang the clothes.
The water came out of the toilet flush were always dirty - didnt dare to open the flush top to see what's inside.
Two small bottles of drinking water for our 2 nights stay. No mini bars or anything if we suddenly craving for a hot drink at night. Or maybe we can run to the 7 Eleven across the road.
Wifi only available in the lobby area.
If you're a budget or backpacker traveler, this is NOT a budget hotel and the hotel is quite far from the Kuala Kangsar's town and its main attractions. Even my GPS couldnt detect it. There are more other better budget hotels and guesthouses in town to choose if you want to stay longer in town. It is not suitable for a solo female traveler especially to wander at night because of...
Read moreOur recent 3 nights stay at this hotel was nothing but disgusting ! Both bedroom and bathroom were fifty with cockroaches and spiders. The hot water heater was not functioning with no hot shower. The receptionists were diabolical with no sense of customer care, when approached, they just gave lip services, and never came back to us. We had to endure the entire stay with most uncomfortable cold shower. On the second and third day,,there was no water supply in the morning for us to clean ourselves. It is the worst hotel we have...
