We’ve been coming to mykori Tanjung Malim almost monthly as this is the only shaved ice dessert place within Slim River and Tanjung Malim, had few bad experiences regarding their services but our recent visit made me write this review.
Ordered mineral water, and was given plain iced water instead. Please do tell us if you’re out of stock for mineral water before we made our payment. I could’ve just bought mineral from watsons which was just walks away. We paid rm2.50 for mineral water, please have the courtesy to refund if you’re out of stock.
Ordered seperate sauces on our korean fried chicken(not mixed with the chicken), but was not seperated. This is the 2nd time this has happened.
We have learn not to order desserts(kakigori) together with the hot meals as previously few times instructed to serve the kakigori later, it was prepared together with the hot meal. This time however, when we ordered the 2nd time, a fee of rm1.50 was charged, turned out it was prepared for us for takeaway.
We asked for dine-in kakigori, which they remade the order. the kakigori we had this time was not as per usual. Ordered their strawberry cheesecake kakigori, few times we ordered previously, small chunks of cheesecakes were spread within the kakigori. This time, a single thin sliced cheesecake about 3x3cm at the centre of the cheesecake, why bother put the cheesecake there, just put it outside. really disappointed with the kakigori this time, as the only reason we kept coming back to mykori is for their shaved ice dessert.
Also had their pistachio croffle, which was stale and hard. Tasted like the croffle was made much earlier, and they just reheated it using a microwave or airfryer. Please, if it was rm5-6 per croffle then i wouldn’t complain but this is not the quality you would expect from an rm11 croffle. No need to write signature waffle in the menu, just write ‘stale waffle’.
In conclusion, I’m not complaining because this is a one time event. This has occured few times with this branch. I’m not sure whether it’s caused by the lack of communication of the person at the counter and the kitchen staff, but this needs to be improved. Even as a frequent cafe goer, the price isn’t cheap, even the bill for two today came to almost rm120 so please don’t provide such...
Read moreDuring my recent visit, I had the opportunity to try their ice cream, and while it was generally enjoyable, I noticed some areas for improvement. The ice cream itself was creamy and delightful, but the portion size seemed smaller than what I remembered from previous visits, which was a bit disappointing.
As for the flavors, the chocolate tasted overly synthetic, lacking the rich, indulgent taste one might expect. Unfortunately, it fell short of being truly flavorful. The pistachio sauce, while promising in concept, was far too sweet for my liking, with an aftertaste that was somewhat off-putting.
A nice perk is that you get a free scoop of ice cream if you leave a review on Google Maps. However, the free scoop is notably small, which makes the offer less appealing than it initially sounds. The cofee was not flavourful at all. It tasted too raw just like a warm water.
The service was acceptable overall, but I did encounter a bit of rudeness from the cashier, which dampened the experience slightly. Moreover, the selection of cakes was quite limited, which was a bit underwhelming given the expectations.
On a positive note, the atmosphere of the place was pleasant, with plenty of seating available, making it a comfortable spot to relax. However, there was a strong, lingering smell of oil in the air, which detracted from the otherwise inviting environment. A little more attention to cleanliness and air quality could significantly enhance the...
