Roti Bakar Arang Fadzil House in Taiping is a breakfast gem that lives up to its local fame. My wife and I recently visited this cozy spot, located at Roti Bakar Arang Fadzil House, and were thoroughly impressed by the quality and authenticity of the food.
Known for its breakfast-only service, this eatery offers a delightful morning dining experience that captures the essence of Malaysian cuisine.
We ordered two bowls of lontong, and they were nothing short of spectacular. The rich, fragrant coconut broth was perfectly balanced, with tender vegetables and just the right amount of spice to awaken the palate. The accompanying rice cakes were soft yet firm, soaking up the flavorful gravy beautifully.
Each bite was a comforting blend of textures and tastes, making it one of the best lontong dishes we’ve had in a while. The roti bakar, charred to perfection over charcoal, was another highlight, crisp on the outside, soft within, and served with a generous spread of kaya and butter that melted into every crevice.
The ambiance at Fadzil House is unpretentious and welcoming, with a bustling yet warm atmosphere typical of a popular local haunt. The staff were friendly and efficient, ensuring our food arrived promptly despite the morning crowd.
It’s clear why this place is a favorite among Taiping locals, its dedication to quality and tradition shines through in every dish.
For anyone exploring Taiping, Roti Bakar Arang Fadzil House is a must-visit for breakfast. Whether you’re craving lontong, roti bakar, or other Malaysian classics, this spot delivers an authentic and satisfying experience. Just be sure to arrive early, as it’s only open in the mornings and fills up quickly.

Read moreThis place serves Nasi Lemak with varieties of side dishes to choose from and its special menu which is charcoal toast with half boiled egg on top. Starting with the nasi lemak, the portion of the rice is little less and also less warm although its served at 8.10am. The fried chiken also served cold. Even the chili sauce served cold. The charcoal toast were toasted using pan (not toast using charcoal as advertised) and not properly toast with just bit of butter used. The half boiled egg on top of it is just nice but additional baked bean is like served right from the can, very dissapointed. Our charcoal toast came within 10 min and sadly our nasi lemak delivered 10 min later which sent to wrong table earlier. Total cost for our breakfast is RM27.70 which is quite fare for 3 plates of nasi lemak 2 with side dishes, 2 sets of charcoal toast with half boiled egg and 5 drinks. Overall our breakfast experience at this place is not as what we expected although after just 30 min dining, the table arround and...
Read moreI recently visited Roti Bakar Arang Fadzil House and had a memorable dining experience. The roti was exceptionally delicious, perfectly toasted to a delightful crunch. Their nasi lemak was equally impressive, with a sambal that was wonderfully spicy and flavorful. The cucur udang was also a standout, crispy and packed with taste. I highly recommend trying the roti telur goyang—it's a must-have!
However, be aware that the service can be a bit slow, which can lead to a lot of the menu items running out by the time you arrive. Despite this, the staff were quick to get things done and served us efficiently once we were seated. The food is best enjoyed fresh, so try to arrive early to avoid missing out and to ensure everything is served at its best.
Overall, Roti Bakar Arang Fadzil House offers great food with notable flavors. Just plan to arrive early to make the most...
