Wow.... that's the only word for it. There two stalls on each ends of the small row of stalls with limited tables and seating.
The first stall sells mee with steam chicken, ngah choi and chicken feet... it is very good... I had meehoon dry mix while my wife had hor fun soup. It came without any meat and beansprouts. The taste was good well seasoned and flavourful. Accompanying our bowls of mee is a quarter lower half of the chicken and a plate of chicken feet. Nga Choy came on another plate. The soy sauce mix that it was doused in was just right.. not too salty and not too sweet.. a wonderful blend of the different sauces. Five star should be given for the food safe for the environment. The price is surprisingly affordable.
The second stall sells prawn noodles and is also good and the prawn soup is full bodied and you can add 3 big prawns for a reasonable price. The only problem the prawn mee is that some may not like it due to its full prawn flavour unlike many other good stalls that sells a more diluted version. But... i like the full flavour of the prawn soup... and best of all the sambal is only mildly spicy.
Yup two thumbs up... this is where the local eats... and it's one of the oldest and best tasting dishes...
Read moreI can not say how happy I am to review this place because this is the original medan selera, which has been here for over 50 years now. It's small, simple, and straightforward. No-nonsense hawkers, which serve simple hawker foods, are found here.
I've been coming here since I was a child, and over the last 4 decades, I have seen so many people change ownership here. Till today, there are some amazing local hawkers selling great food. This place is truly one of the beginnings of the food courts in PJ and truly a nostalgic experience.
Hor Fun, Chicken Rice, Prawn Mee, Economy Noodles, Chee Cheong Fun, Wan Tan Mee, Nasi Campur, Briyani and more found here.
There's a Halal section and a non-Halal area and parking all around the...
Read moreFirst time visiting, I had the pleasure of ordering from an elderly aunty selling fried noodles ranging from char kuey teow to hokkien mee to Lou shi fan for just rm7! I ordered a large char kuey teow with egg and was blown away by the portion she gave me. Her char kuey teow was the old traditional style where although it is oily, it has no aginomoto and was cooked well. I absolutely love the egg cooked into an oyster egg style where it is 'fluffy' and soft. The dong fun was a bit wet but it's full of flavour I thoroughly enjoyed it, definitely consider this stall in Medan Selera Jalan Tandang. The drink stall just a few stalls to the right of the aunty is pretty cheap(rm2 for teh o ais limau) and...
