Archie de Corner — Restaurant in Sabah

Archie is a popular place for local as it is famous for their giant steak portion. They have move shop but still around the old place just 4 shop lot away located nearby lido which u can Google it out. Operate since early 2000 during my college time, from RM19.90 to now RM40 per portion lamb chop, the price is still very very very worth it. The portion is fit for 2 pax, so if u order chicken chop (RM 30) please do expect to have double chicken whole legs😊😊

They do have pork belly and pork collar. Well, if I remember correctly the size per portion is 400g each. Fish and chips is nothing to hoo-ha about because they are using dory. But lamb, beef, pork and chicken is outstandingly good especially for meat eater.

Now the set back, They didn't rent the whole shop but just the kitchen. To order, you must walk to the kitchen and talk to the waitress. Whole place is crampy and very hot and stuffy, biasa lah Sabah weather what do you expect. We enter the eatery around 6.30pm and there is so many tables still waiting. So food is ready around 7.05pm yeah that's the duration you need to wait for 30 minutes and above, don't complaint because this is the best part of this restaurant. The aroma of steaks from the next table will make your intestine work harder producing more enzyme 😁😁 They are not like western restaurant in KL or Selangor that offering fruit juice big mug.. But they do sell beer for those wish to pair good steak with some bubbles.. Overall, very happy to know they are back in service. It's been many years since they last operate. This place is… fairly alright I guess. The quality food is good although there being only 6 choices. Fair warning to all here, the cheapest meal was RM 30 so it isn’t the best value wise.

Best value for money? It is the chicken shop. It is both delicious and easy to eat.

Worst meal out of all? I suppose the lamb. Albeit, it seems delicious but it is not worth it. Not only that, the lamb was quite raw and hard to eat.

The staffs are okay, they seem friendly but the environment can be quite dirty. I would’ve given this a 4 star if the environment was that bad.

Overall, tons of improvement...

Archie de Corner is (based on the date of this review) located inside "Sarawak Kuching Laksa" restaurant at the Taman Cantek shoplots.
