One Roof Cafe - LUYANG PERDANA — Restaurant in Sabah

Usually very good but had a bad experience this year in January. Went for breakfast with my family and had brought an Italian guest so it was pretty embarrassing that this happened after telling him of the place. My cousin had ordered a cream cheese with cranberries croissant. When it finally arrived (20 mins later than everything else), they had used raisins instead of cranberries. As such, I went and told the staff in front of this. When they brought it out again, I noticed it was the SAME croissant with a few added cranberries (so the raisins were still there). Since we couldn't be bothered to get it changed again (by that time, my cousin was hungry), my cousin took a bite. It turned out that they DID NOT USE CREAM CHEESE but had used MAYONNAISE. This made it completely inedible. When I went to tell the staff this, they told me that they would check with the kitchen. After standing and waiting for about 5 mins, I asked her what was taking so long. She told me that the cream cheese and cranberries croissant was seldom ordered so they actually did not have any cream cheese. Further, the main chef was apparently not there. This is NO EXCUSE as if there was a missing ingredient, they should have either said that this was not available in the menu today or told us that they were going to substitute it with mayonnaise (p.s who eat mayonnaise with cranberries/raisins?). After that, I HAD TO ASK for a refund as one was not automatically offered. There was also no offer to change our order and so we left with my cousin NEVER getting her meal. I think they have added much variety to the menu, wide selection! 👍Kudos to that. Located in a neighbourhood, but it's kinda difficult to get parking there. Popular among families with young children, as there's a kids play area, which is so thoughtful 👍 not common in eateries in KK.

Enjoy their ice coffee warm latte! In fact their local coffee taste nice too. Kaw enough.

UPDATE: I visited them recently for lunch. Ordered kimchi gochujang rice (if I remember correctly). When it was served, I find the texture of the rice abit weird..toooo soggy. So I feedback and was told that that's how the rice should be. Fine, I attempted to force myself to finish it, but gave up eventually. Tooo weird for my liking. So I proceeded to order another meal. Soon later, one of the staff brought me a tapao of the same meal - the rice. Was told that yes there was actually something wrong with the rice. However they cant remove it from my bill. The best hey can do it to compensate with another same meal. The meal was sent straight to me, not giving my an opportunity to say no or to ask for other things 🙈 What I'm trying to say is - I appreciate that they took client's feedback seriously! 💪 But there are better service recovery in my opinion. I was full by eating the second meal which I ordered. And I already have dinner plan. So what you want me to do with that tapao.. Erm...I feel so bad...

I returned to One Roof in KK this year with high hopes after a positive experience the previous year. Unfortunately, my visit was a significant disappointment.

The service was appalling. Despite the cafe being relatively empty, we struggled to get the attention of the staff. When we finally managed to order, our drinks were forgotten entirely. The staff's overall demeanor was indifferent, lacking any sense of urgency or care for customer satisfaction.

The food was equally disappointing. While the pizza toppings were acceptable, the crust was stale and unpleasant. The overall presentation lacked care.

The cafe's interior was in a state of neglect. Worn-out flooring, a dirty and unkempt restroom, and a general air of disrepair created an unpleasant atmosphere. Given the high prices, the quality of food and service was unacceptable. I cannot recommend One Roof Cafe and doubt I...
