Red Fish — Restaurant in Sabah

Me and my wife ordered a different drinks and food.. i odered their signature dish which is Singapore Mihun Soup with fried fish and my wife odered their curry with rice.. I love the singapore mihun soup but i am so disappointed with the fish they served me.. it wasn’t fresh at all plus im having a hard time eating the fish cause there are too many bones🥹 one bone i can accept but everytime i bite it, there’s bones🤣🤣even with just a small bite, i hve to get rid of 3 to 4 bones🤣so i stop eating the fish since i was expecting the fillet wont have bones.. and their curry they added lychee in it which is kinda weird and doesn’t combined well.. it tastes a little bitter . oh i also ordered their fried sotong, and what i get was just 3 slices of sotong and a lot of fried onion rings😅😅i dont know whether they are selling it that way or they are out of sotong that day.. i ask their staff and they answered mmg mcm bgitu.. then sy befikir, kenapa tdk tulis sja dlm menu tu served with onion rings, so i at-least wont feel scammed.. dont get me wrong, their staff was great ,service was great.. i only dislike their food. I didn’t take pictures cause im the type of person who doesn’t take photos of my food but in this case i think i should’ve took a couple of photos for proof. Whether org pecaya atau tdk sy cuma share experience sja😅😅not trying to ruin someone’s business, i hope the owner take it as a apa org blg, teguran untuk ko perbaiki lagi...

I ordered kids meal.supposedly got pasta/spagetthi besides fries,fried chicken & Vitagen. The food came and the staff didn’t inform me earlier while she already put my order on the table and said the pasta was unavailable (out of stock) .and the staff simply replied me : we have changed it to bihun tomato soup.and without inform me earlier there will be changed in the menu.what a surprised .hence i paid the same amount rm39 for two kids meal.from pasta/spagetti changed to Bihun soup tomato.i must say that the bihun tomato soup noodle taste so bad.maybe next time you can changed it to chicken Fried rice or fried noodle la.such a waste we can’t finish the food when my kids really don’t like the food.improve your service please.and P/s blaming the new staff just because he/she the one who took my orders won’t make the old staff any goods.it was really annoyed me when some of the staff say “ because he/she is our new staff that’s why didn’t inform you anything” the one that explained that to me put the shame on you for not being a good example to your new...

Ok. To be in the restaurant market that revolves around fish menu/dish IN SABAH. I’d say the taste is average. Here is why,

I ordered kon loh noodle Tom Yam fried fish soup. The noodle taste average nothing special. On the other hand, the TomYam was delicious, not too spicy, not too soury, it was balanced and perfectly measured. But, The fish was a little disappointing, probably I was not given a fresh fish because when I eat it, the fish crumbles in my mouth instead giving me time to at least bite it first. Or maybe that is how the fish(siakap) suppose to be taste.

Of course I am not expecting Grouper but I was expecting ikan merah(redfish) since that is the name of your restaurant.

With the price that came with the food I honestly think I tasted somewhere far better at the same value. Even with better type of fish.
