WORST PLACE TO DINE INDIAN CUISINE. Deserves 0 stars.
INTRANSPARENCY IN PRICING. No menu given, before dining was told that price is RM11, go counter it turned RM13. Ask what was charged, the vegetarian meal was actually RM12 + RM1 for something i asked for refill that apparently wasn’t part of the vegetarian course (please tell if you’re going to charge more) BAD BASIC HYGIENE. When kaut the food, the wet tofu fell on the table and the server pushed the tofu to the banana leaf. Didn’t even offer to change, i had to ask a change, when changing, didn’t even lap the banana leaf off the contaminated tofu sauce that was dragged across the table. INSINCERITY Not to mention kaut lauk so little, minta refill pun took 20mins+ after reminding 4 times. LACK OF STAFF/Current staff not attentive enough. Order air pun salah. TASTE IS NOT THE BEST. Teh tarik was bland. Curry is bland. The lauk is not bad laa but the service toooo bad. Cannot overlook.
This is my 2nd time dining here. First time was not good, staff were unfriendly and slow but this 2nd time is too much…
Overall worst and very overrated restaurant. I love indian food but this is just horrible. I do not recommend this place. Please improve, customers don’t deserve to be treated like this after...
Read moreMy go-to for Banana Leaf Rice in Kuching. I usually share a Teh Halia Kau with my wife as it comes in a big mug.
With the Banana Leaf Rice, I usually ask for dried chilli which is the perfect spicy & salty accompaniment to the rice dish. I really love how the individual condiments contribute different textures & flavors to the dish. Nothing like crunchy cucumber slices to cool you down after a mouthful of dried chilli, pineapple chutney, & rice soaked in curry.
The best part is you can have as much as you want for the same price. The server was shocked when I asked for more rice. I tend to overeat every time I have banana leaf rice. Perhaps it's because I eat with my fingers &, trust me, it's the best way to enjoy this dish. Somehow it tastes better when you're licking it off your fingers.
I think the rojak, roti, & tosai are so-so. I've yet to find a great rojak or tosai in Kuching. Mee goreng can be pretty good depending on the mood of the cook. 🤣
The proprietor shared a secret with me. Never order lassi in Kuching. There isn't a source of fresh milk here so the lassi you're gulping down at any establishment would have been made from powder & lack the body & full cream goodness...
Read moreHad a craving for banana leaf & found this place thru Google. Food is decent, not the best. Waitresses need training in customer service: Friendliness n smile, almost non existence Knowledge of food & drink serve
Do check your bill before paying. Masala tea is stated RM5 on menu but lady charged me rm7 in the hand scribbled bill. When I told lady its stated different on menu, she immediately reduce the price to RM6. When I took the menu & showed her its stated rm5, only then she reduced it to RM5! All this while the proprietor (I guess such as a younger her with some politician was on the wall) was listening. No apology from them but instead proprietor said price of everything has increase, that's why they charge 50 cents for papadam. Me n my partner has 1 additional each, together with our meal but was charge 70 cents each by the other lady, I didn't bother asking but highly likely my 1st n last visit.
So please check your bill prior shd u patronage...
