SCR, previously and more notably known as Singapore Chicken Rice, is a chain of restaurant outlets based in Kuching, Sarawak. Since its birth in 1987, SCR Corporation Sdn. Bhd. has grown to become one of East Malaysia’s biggest home grown food names. Operations started out with only a 1,200 sq. feet air-conditioned lot in Jalan Song Thian Cheok. Over the years, due to continuous support from all our stakeholders, especially staff, suppliers and customers, the company now boasts a total of 30 outlets to date.

I had high expectations based on the name of the shop. Coming from Singapore, I know what is good chicken rice.
Not sure why they call the shop Xpress, that implies high speed, and the service was definitely not high speed.
After waiting at least 20 minutes for chicken rice I contemplated walking out, even my glass of water hadn't arrived. But, with the name Singapore Chicken Rice, I thought I'd give the benefit of doubt.
Eventually the food and drink arrived and to be honest it turned out to be a tad underwhelming, just like the service.
I have been working in kuching now for nearly 2 years, so I've had a lot of chicken rice here, this was probably the worst. The rice, really was not nice, very dry, the chili sauce tasted like lemon to me, and was not very hot. The chicken was well cooked and tender, but when I order breast meat, I am not accustomed to also have to work my way around bones and grissle.
I doubt that I will return, as there are so many other very good establishments...

Imagine what have they gone through for the day. they have sold out of chicken, and when one of the lady crew that served me, Halisa (in green uniform) if I’m not mistaken, informed me that if I could wait just for 20 mins, she will roast for me, other eateries might have just say finish, and turn me away. Instead her offer helped me a lot so I no need to go to the other eatery to takeaway. She is a great multitasker, wonderful communicator and is surely an asset to SCR.
