If you enjoy food that "tastes" out of the ordinary, then by all means drop by this ONE and ONLY restaurant in Kuala Kubu Bahru that commands the taste buds of not only the locals but even from those as far away as JB and Penang. This restaurant used to be a stopover dinner place for tourists heading north to Penang and those from north heading to Genting Highlands via the Batang Kali - Genting road. Ever since the landslide tragedy in 2022 killing kids and teachers along the organic farm to Genting Highlands, tourists no longer have access to that single lane road up. Once closed to public, mass transport travelling, towns like KkB, Ulu Yam and Batang Kali suffer business losses. Back to the restaurant:- The crab porridge is deliciously piping hot, filled with flavor of a single ketam nipah. No msg, no added flavors to spoil its natural taste 👍 The smoked duck was tender, juicy and the owner deboned it to give us chunks and chunks of meat! The grilled squid came with its own juices and it was chewy as well as tender to the jaws! Lastly the "choi-tam" was one-of-a-kind- crispy, tender, juicy and with a taste that was not found in any other restaurants serving this. My brother and i ate everything, leaving nothing on those plates. Even though the prices were like KL, the taste is definately one-notch above theirs. Will definitely come back...

The place was very crowded, and nobody from the restaurant was coming to help us get a table, my husband got annoyed as he stood there for quite a while trying to get a table. Eventually we were told to just find an empty table ourselves. Someone quickly came to clean our table, the boss came to take our orders, so we were settled. Seeing how busy the place was, we were worried we have to wait for a long time. We ordered fried mayao fish (thread fin), smoked chicken and fried vege. Good thing was, the wait was just a short one. Our food was served shortly. The smoked chicken was served whole. The waitress asked us if we needed help with our chicken, so we just said yes. She wore gloves and started breaking and shredding the chicken (you can see in the pix before and after the shredding). The chicken was so nice, smokey flavour with very tender meat. The fish was nicely fried, crispy outside, juicy inside. Vege too was very nicely done, good wok hei. Overall, food was great. When we went to pay, the boss apologized to us that they were not able to help us with getting a table because the place was so busy, and everyone was just so tied up. Will I come again? Definitely! For...
