Located inside KLIA 2, The Refinery offers a comfortable and well-designed seating area, making it a great spot to relax before a flight. One of the biggest advantages of this place is that they have multiple electric plugs, which is perfect for travelers needing to charge their devices.
To be honest, I was surprised when I read some negative reviews on Google Maps because my experience here was actually quite pleasant.
I ordered a cappuccino, and while it wasn’t the best, it was decent enough, nothing special, but drinkable. Given that it’s inside an airport, I’d say the price was reasonable and not overly expensive.
The service was great, the waiter (a man with blonde hair) was helpful, friendly, and quick in handling orders. The overall service speed was fast, which is important when you're in transit.
But again, the biggest plus point of this place is the seating area, which is spacious, clean, and comfortable... something that can be hard to find in a busy airport.
I’d definitely consider coming back if I pass through...
Read moreTerrible service. One guy had a terrible attitude and were very rude and disrespectful. I am assuming he was the manager or supervisor. I ordered drinks and sat down with my family. We had some soft serve from McDonald. Was told we can't eat that there... it was just cones!! I didn't want to be rude in the first place, that is why I ordered the drinks! Keep in mind this was early in the morning and there was not many people at all, many other seats were available but no.. this person came and told us we can't eat that there on their seat! Just disappointing and petty. I was going to order more but he just made me lost my appetite. We packed up and moved to our gate but I wish I didn't because I imagined this would have fueled his ego.

Read moreOnly giving it 3 stars as it's the only place you can buy alcohol. As usual in Malaysia I'm just about the only person drinking. Took a pic of the alcohol as it's probably just ornamental, no one touches the stuff! Just me and an American couple in here - alcohol too. Staff are miserable, man serving dragging his feet along. Depressing place. Maybe they do it purposely so you drink more. RM35 for a small wine. Typical Malaysia prices I guess.. Shame as nicely done place really Miserable man mixing a cocktail now, with his I hate life/you face. NO ONE knows how to do good service in...
