Homst Setia Alam (Chinese Muslim Restaurant) — Restaurant in Shah Alam

I had the pleasure of visiting Homst Setia Alam, a well-known Chinese Muslim restaurant, for an appreciation dinner with my team two weeks ago. The visit was part of a post-event celebration, and it was a great opportunity to try out their highly recommended offerings.

Homst is famous for its variety of Chinese Muslim dishes, and their menu does not disappoint. The selection is extensive, catering to diverse preferences, which made it easy for our group to find something that suited everyone’s taste. Although I was too busy during the dinner to take photos, I remember the dishes were beautifully presented, reflecting the care and attention put into their preparation.

In terms of taste, the food was satisfactory, with some dishes standing out more than others. It’s worth noting that the service was excellent, which added to the overall positive experience. The staff were attentive, friendly, and quick to accommodate our group’s needs, which is always appreciated during a team gathering.

Another highlight is the reasonable pricing. Given the variety of dishes and the quality of service, I found the prices to be fair and well worth the overall experience.

Homst Setia Alam is a great place to visit, especially if you’re looking for halal Chinese cuisine in a comfortable and welcoming environment. While I may not have captured the evening in photos, the good food, excellent service, and pleasant ambiance made it a memorable outing. Ordered salted egg soft shell crab, prawn dumpling soup & mushroom broccoli vege.

This is not my first time here and I can honestly say the food quality had declined so much. Disappointed with the food that we ordered, we could not finish our food (coming from a person who hate to waste food).

The soft shell crab had some filling that tasted like flour. The prawn dumpling had filling that tasted like a poorly made fishball, there was no prawn taste whatsoever.

The veges are steamed fine but the sauce had a strong taste of beef bullion.

Sadly, I won't be coming again, I have been coming here a few times in the last 3-4 years. Chinese muslim style in name only, hardly...

Disappointing and frustrating experience! The service was slow. Only half of our order arrived, which we had finished eating before the rest came (probably about an hour later). Many items we wanted were unavailable , leading to order switches and constant follow-ups. After waiting for so long, again we were told the switched item was out of stock which only were told UPON INQUIRY . Drink orders were neglected until multiple calls, technically we almost finished eating by the time they came to take the drink orders. Apple juice served without ice was totally unexpected?! We were left unattended most of the time, having to repeatedly approach the counter to communicate...
