Seoul Garden @ Setia City Mall — Restaurant in Shah Alam

For a chain restaurant I often avoid writing any reviews unless it’s something that’s worth for fellow foodies to go have a try. Todays lunch was not of any special arrangement but rather just for convenient since we are at the mall for CNY shopping. At first look we were not convinced especially with their pricing… there are plenty of other options if you just look a bit harder. However since we were game for buffet hence we decided to pay a bit more and enjoy todays lunch after much hard work!!. 😂😂😂😂. This place caught me by surprise by its serving sizes on meat. From the on line menu we were supposed to pick only 10 items each order we submit. Hence we took every choice of meat there were ( it’s halal hence only 3 choices). Then we checked out the salad bar and the chicken specialty. I’ve tasted many type of marinate but coffee and black pepper stood out. This did not stop us from trying every type that was on offer. Since it’s Korean infused hence the soup based was kimchi of course. The grill just went on and on with each round just loaded full with both menu orders as well as the salad bar picks. I would highly recommend family outings if everyone can eat. Love the food and the manager. I went there on monday, 4/2/19 for dinner. We are warmly welcome by the manager and he attended us for our request on refilling the soup while the other worker ignored our request. He never even take a break! Then there was one family come in, we are shocked that the father of that family didnt stop cursing and harrasing the manager. They didnt make any reservation beforehand but came with bunch of people. The manager stood there and shook his head without even defending himself. I felt so terrible for not standing up for him. I am not sure what happened with Seoul Garden tbh, the food selections don't look as appetizing and luring as they did. There is less variety of food selections, and they are now providing 3 different packages with different access to proteins.

I went to multiple branches and found this one the least inviting, in a sense. The marinated proteins.... they don't look appetizing to me or was it the lighting, idk. The dippings.... they could have done better. The dippings are honestly the KEY to hotpot/steamboat places.

The staff are polite tho, and hospitable too.
