My taste buds find the menu here tasted quite bland, thanks to my Malay upbringing, but who am I to judge? You should not come here for the rice since the prices are overrated. Noodles all the way, hence the restaurant's name; hand pulled by a bona fide Chinese imported from mainland China. You can observe the entire process from a glass wall that separates the kitchen and dining area. They are freshly made immediately prior to serve, and so, you do not expect preservatives in the ingredients. It tastes like... noodles. But the texture gives it a distinct eating experience compared with the lame ass instant noodles or local 'mee kuning' (yellow noodles) you had eaten before and I am pretty sure you want to learn Mandarin after a slurp. The broth may put a smile to the health conscious people. It is thin, somewhat transparent, less oily, mellow saltiness, and less spices too. I never thought Chinese is a fan of chili heat until I had one bowl of their noodles; they drizzle chili oil into the broth. Speaking of the broth variety, I find it quite disappointing to notice the same broth is used as the basis broth across the noodle menu, say, if you order a beef 'lamen' today and come back next week to order veggie noodles, the broth would taste similar. What differs may the amount of chili oil drizzled on top of the broth and the presence of beef or veggies for sure.
On a different note, being a fan of tea, babao tea is good. It is a glass of green tea with dried fruits, soaken a few minutes to release their aroma, sweetened with rock sugar. Taste like grass with herbs, but I like that. Jasmine tea (unsweetened), on the other hand, would taste alright for the first few minutes then turned bitter as bile and I could not take it anymore.
I personally do not like the prices. Not cheap. But I have come here three times by friends invitation. Walking out from the restaurant always feels like something is...
Read moreThe restaurant has a variety of Chinese Muslim (Hui) culinary. There are good selection of noodles and meals for rice. It also has set meal for lunch. The meal portion is generous. The food presentation is nice. The taste is satisfying. The Mee Tarik really taste nice and there are a lot of other good stuff inside the bowl of noodle. I ordered Mee Tarik Goreng (Fried noodle) which has many slices of beef inside. It's really satisfying digging in and savouring the noodle. Service is quite fast. The setting is clean, neat & tidy though a bit dim. The price is very reasonable, especially the price of beverages. (Some restaurant put exorbitantly high price of beverages, which for me is unethical excessive profit making). I like Ba Bao tea, which is a combination of healthy ingredients with high anti-oxidant such as green tea, goji berry, laicy, red dates etc. The tea's smell is refreshing. It costs you about RM6, definitely a good value for variety of good healthy ingredients packed in one drink. You can also buy sachets of Ba Bao tea at the counter, RM6 / sachet, which you can use 2 times. Another tea i.e. Wolberry Tea only available with set meal. This one is also refreshing. Overall it's a good and satisfying culinary and gastronomic experience. This place is definitely one of good place to enjòy and savour good Chinese...
Read moreThe food is tasty and arrived very fast but sadly the service is very poor.
I didn't feel welcomed and appreciated at all. The malay staff (wearing tudung and spectacle) is very disrespectful.
She keep on speaking with a high intonation and never say thank you even though I say it. She slam the frozen dumpling on the table counter, instruct other male staff to prepare it.
She shouted 'cash' when wife asked if we can pay using debit card. We have came to this outlet few times already but never received such bad experience. Will never come back ever...
