Strap in for a long read, guys. Checked in for one nite as the wife's company was havin their annual dinner here the same nite n it was also both our birthday week. Wife is a Hilton Honors member n due to some timing concerns, our room was delightfully upgraded to a Deluxe Park View room. Lobby itself was grand though not as large as expected for a 5star hotel. Received out still warm yummy cookies n we headed expeditiously to our room on the 9th floor. Honestly, I was expecting to get a higher floor room but ALLAH's planning is beautiful and awesome, which will come to lite later as an advantage to my wife specifically. The initial impression of room was that it was kinda small but all other features and amenities made up for it abundantly. The carpet was clean n the room itself, not musty n overall looked newish. Too many other awesome features to share that made sense in a 5star hotel were present. Cherry on top for us was a 'birthday cake' delivered later n honest to God, it was among the best chocolate cake we had ever tasted. The outside view specially at nite was spectacular since it overlooked the City of Digital Lights. Grand Ballroom itself was presentable n grand as expected. Moving to the dinner spread, in short was delicious. Honourable mentions were the lamb slices, satay n teh tarik. With all the food, interactions n entertainment, we expected to have a good nite sleep later. Such was not the case, as a 4am, the fire alarm went off. Groggy n at first wanted to disregard it, i grabbed whatever valuables n since wife has a bad leg condition, it was fortunate that we were not as high up, we were among the first 2b at lobby. At first, all were calm as other higher level stayin guests started to congregate, waiting for any directions/update from the hotel rep. A couple minutes later, we heard commotions at the reception area. Went to the source and i personally had to calm this one guy who seems to hav a beer can in-hand with the loudest of voice, complaining why he was rudely awaken, as the front desk guy could not handle him. After receiving update that it was a false alarm, all I can say was alhamdulillah n back to sleep. Happily, the impressive breakfast spread made up for the lack of a full, uninterrupted nite sleep. Egg selection awesome, fresh waffles n humus, yummy as was the teh tarik. After a good hearty breakfast, we explored the pool n then proceeded to walk to Central i-city shopping mall which is like 30seconds away from the hotel. Note to hotel Management. Plenty of SOP improvements on the Fire or any emergency situations to b done. No one guided or directed us to the evacuation area, nor any SHE team seemed to b on-site to take charge of the situation. Maybe there were but again, we were there n all I can say, I was glad that it was a false alarm. All in all, will recommend this gem of a hotel for its service level, close proximity to a huge mall and unique outdoor...
Read moreI am writing to formally express my deep disappointment regarding the incident that occurred during our stay at DoubleTree by Hilton, Shah Alam, on January 30, 2025. Unfortunately, what was meant to be a short vacation was severely impacted by an unsafe condition in the hotel room, specifically the bathroom glass door, which resulted in injuries to my family. At approximately 10:00 PM, upon returning from our visit to i-City, my husband merely touched the bathroom door when it suddenly collapsed on him, striking his head before shattering into pieces. As a result, he sustained injuries to his head, leg, and hand, which began bleeding. My elder son, who was standing behind him, got injured to his toenail, while my youngest son sustained a cut on his foot due to the broken glasses What added to our distress was the lack of an immediate and effective response from the hotel staff. The management appeared unprepared to handle such emergencies, with no trained personnel to administer first aid or a clear protocol in place. I had to personally request assistance for transportation to the nearest hospital, and even then, no staff member voluntarily accompanied us until I insisted. Upon arriving at the hospital, we were further disappointed to learn that the hotel was unwilling to cover the medical expenses upfront. I was required to pay the bill myself and was informed that any reimbursement would only be possible through an insurance claim, with no immediate resolution or support from the hotel. Additionally, despite the disruption to our stay and the time lost in dealing with the situation, no compensation was offered. When I requested an extra night's stay to recover from the ordeal, I was informed that I would need to pay for it myself. This experience has left us deeply unsettled and emotionally distressed. My children now feel that DoubleTree by Hilton is unsafe, and we are extremely disappointed by the management’s lack of accountability and customer care. Despite meeting with the General Manager, HR Manager, and Room Service Manager, there has been no further resolution. As a reputable establishment under the Hilton brand, we expected a higher standard of safety, responsibility, and guest support—expectations that, regrettably, they were not met in this instance. I urge the management to review this matter seriously and take appropriate action to ensure such incidents do not occur in the future. Additionally, I request fair compensation for the distress and inconvenience due to the...
Read moreHi. I was staying on 23-24 Sep 23. This was my first experience staying at Doubletree Hilton Shah Alam. I booked the Premium King Suite Room 2010. Better register as Hilton Honor Member because u will get some privilege such as Room rate, cancellation policy, Wifi, Breakfast Discount. And I'm quit surprise with their special rates for military/government even though on weekend. Really appreciate it. Room was ok but i would like to recommend each room to have fragrant like the hotel lift. It will make the guests feel relaxed and calmed as entering the room. However, i'm not so sure, but i felt itchy when sitting at the sofa. The best thing, u will get so many complimentaries such as delicious cookies upon check in, 2 piece of chocolates and a little cute jar of spicy peanut inside your room, 4 bottles of drinking water and 4 Nescafe capsules for coffee maker. The room is divided by 3 space ; living room, bedroom and bathroom which has a bathtub. The view from the room was not so good compared to the other rooms which facing the I-city theme park. I could only see buildings and construction from my room. For customer service, they were really polite and helpful, i don't remember their name but from the reception until the security guard, they were very committed to assist through our staying. The life guards were also excellent, always monitor the childrens' safety at swimming pool. Credit to Abg Sado@Gym Guy. Swimming pool was divided by 3 section ; kids pool 0.6 M, Adult pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast was the best thing through our stay; variety food and many options even for kids. The little bit disappointed was about parking service, the hotel car park was always full, I'm not sure whether they were really full or only selected persons can park at hotel parking. The management should look into this matter. Better you offload all things at lobby before park your car. And remember to validate your touch n go at reception counter every time u want to go out to get flat rate Rm 5. Thats all, and i will stay again in future to explore more on spa, sauna, gym and games room. Last but not least. Thanks to whatsapp staff always check our comfort starting from cx in till cx out. Im not sure they are virtual helper or real person. Credit to Putri, Jocelyn, Banu,...
