We were in the mood for some lobster and decided to give them a try. I must say, they did not disappoint.
We made a reservation to avoid any inconvenience, and we went at 11 am so we could dine in peace, before the lunch crowd arrived.
We were among the first to arrive, so it was peaceful and quiet.
After perusing the menu, we placed our order. Almost immediately, our beverages were served. The Orange Juice was as delicious as any Orange Juice could be, and it was beautifully garnished with a slice of orange, mint leaves, and a lovely flower. The Apple Calamansi Asam Boi appeared simple but tasted absolutely delightful.
Next, we were served the Wild Mushroom Soup with Homemade Garlic Bread and a complimentary serving of bun. We thoroughly enjoyed the chunky pieces in the mushroom soup.
While enjoying the mushroom soup, the Grilled NZ Mussels were presented to us, offering an explosion of flavours with each bite. Despite its simplicity, the dish exuded richness and left us craving for more.
Shortly after, our primary objective for the visit arrived: the Lobster Thermidor. Upon serving, we were graciously informed that assistance in handling the lobster could be provided if required. Although it was a thoughtful gesture, we opted to tackle the task ourselves. While we found the taste enjoyable, it must be noted that this dish heavily incorporates cheese. Therefore, individuals who do not have a preference for cheese may not find the Thermidor to their liking.
Lastly, our Lamb Ribs were served. They were cooked to perfection, succulent and flavorful. We particularly enjoyed the fatty portions of the lamb.
Overall, we had a delightful dining experience. However, it is worth noting that the prices are slightly higher, so be prepared if you are considering ordering dishes such as lobster and lamb.
Finally, I would like to commend the exceptional service provided by the staff. They were friendly, courteous, and made sure to announce each dish as it was brought...
Read moreI recently dined at this restaurant and found the overall ambience to be excellent – it was clean, inviting, and very family-friendly. The service was impressive, attentive, and contributed positively to the experience.
Regarding the food, my impressions were mixed. The grilled bone marrow was a highlight, especially with the accompanying chimichurri sauce, which I found so enjoyable that I used it as a dip for other dishes. The grilled vegetables were satisfactory but nothing exceptional and could easily be skipped. The onion soup was flavorful, though it contained an excessive amount of cheese, which detracted from the overall enjoyment.
The tenderloin steak was cooked to the requested medium doneness, which was appreciated; however, the flavor was underwhelming compared to steakhouses I have visited before. The accompanying sauce did not complement the steak well, prompting me to rely once again on the chimichurri sauce for added flavor.
As for the lobster, it was disappointing. The meat lacked freshness and sweetness, qualities expected from a good lobster dish. Additionally, the lobster flavor was overshadowed by a heavy layer of melted cheese, and the thick butter sauce did not harmonize well with the cheese. Once again, the chimichurri sauce was most helpful.
Considering the pricing, it felt high relative to the food quality. While the visit was an okay experience, the restaurant does not offer sufficient value to warrant a repeat visit, especially for those mindful of their budget. Overall, I would describe it as a respectable attempt but one that falls short in delivering consistently...
Read moreCame here for birthday celebration of my family. I am not new to Kay's, the one I always dine is in Ampang Arc. But today, we go a bit further to Putra Heights, as Ampang branch is fully booked! So it was 9 of us, and when we arrived, we are hungry as we are really reserving our tummy to eat tonight 🍽️
We got the special section which is a table for 10 in a cozy private space. Really nice space to eat. We are entertained by staffs with good PR skills! The tone of talking, the way they took order, the way they suggest and upsell, is a good management of people I can say. Well trained staff 🫰🏼
Let's start with the appetiser, Grilled Mussel was love on the first bite. Then, our main entree came, dayum every bite is worth every penny you paid. Portion is big, taste was exquisite, cook to perfection! Lobster just melt in our mouth, Potterhouse steak was cook medium well just as what we asked! Kudos to the chef!
The staffs also come to check on us to ask if all is okay, if food is okay. I remember the face, I forgot the name of staff, a guy starting with A and came from Kedah. Even took his time to take us our family photo while busy doing his own closing task. Thank you for your hospitality 🌻
Love the food. Love the ambience. Love the service. I am in F&B line for years, and I am also a food hunter & explorer. I can say one of the best place to dine in Malaysia. This branch would be easily in my top 5, from in and out of the country! Price is a bit on top, but it's worth it. Of course, 10 out of 10! Definitely we will meat...
