Shallow Lagoon Rasdhoo — Restaurant in North Ari Atoll

We recently had a wonderful vacation at the Shallow Lagoon Rasdhoo Island, Maldives, and we would like to share the amazing experience that we had here.||||For sure this was a best guesthouse in whole Rasdhoo Island, which provided a full resort experience at an affordable price. The room was spacious and comfortable with all the necessary amenities. The staffs in the hotel were helpful, and they helped us with everything from arranging speedboat transfers for arriving and leaving the island, and they were supportive for booking excursions. We booked a full-day excursion to snorkel with mantas, nurse sharks and local spices of fishes (Luckily, we saw a group of mantas! How amazing it was!), and the professionalism and safety measures were outstanding. The staffs were quite kind, friendly and considerate. The excursion was so well planned and we always felt safe and had fun!||||One of the highlights during the stay in Shallow Lagoon Rasdhoo was the warm-hearted people that we met here, especially the sunshine lady - Maria, who was an absolute treasure! She spoke perfect Spanish and English, and she was super helpful, out-going, hospitable and totally easy-going. She made us feel right at home from the moment that we made our first step on the Island! She welcomed us at the port of the island when we arrived. She gave us very good recommendations on how we could make our vacation even more enjoyable in the Island, which helped us have a really wonderful time in the end! She sent us to the port when we finished our trip in the Island, and at that moment I felt like that I just finished visiting an old friend which we have met for years! In February 2024 we spent a bit more than a week in the Shallow Lagoon Hotel on the Rasdhoo island. And what a week it was! Everything was simply magnificent. We felt genuinely welcome from the very first moment we set our foot on the island’s sand. The hotel staff deserves all the credit for that. They were all extremely friendly, doing their utmost to make our stay as pleasant and relaxed as possible. They made sure that our rooms were clean at all times and that the same applied to the whole hotel area too. The food was local and- great. One cannot overlook how it got served- in a well shaded tropical garden covered by sand which enabled us to walk barefoot from our rooms directly to the dining area. While enjoying our food, a few very friendly parrots regularly joined us; Johny was the bravest one, sitting on our shoulders and chatting with us. The hotel people also organized a bunch of wonderful trips for us, including snorkelling on remote coral reefs, picnics on other islands (Madivaru sand bank, Thoddoo…), night fishing with the locals, diving with the mantas and last but not least- a wonderful dinner under the stars at the local bikini beach. The scuba dives provided by the hotel’s scuba centre (which was extremely well equipped and staffed) were just the cherry on top of the cake. Every Shallow Lagoon Hotel staff member did their best. However, Maria deserves a special credit for organizing everything in such a manner that our trip to Maldives simply exceeded our expectations. We do recommend staying on Rasdhoo which is a “local” island and hence offers visitors a possibility to blend in with the local residents and get a feeling of their day-to-day routine (which is something that one cannot get by visiting a “resort” hotel). And- of course- we do highly recommend staying at the Shallow Lagoon Hotel. Maria & co., thank you once again for making our family vacation...
