Restaurant came highly recommended. But unfortunately we found the complete opposite. The waiter who didn’t speak very good English came across very nice and recommended some of the meals from different sections of the menu. We chose to have Chinese cabbage and a lamb crepes with a creamy mint sauce which was very nice. The meal at this point was very pleasant. We then ordered chicken with mushroom sauce and 300g ribeye steak with peppercorn sauce. When it came out the chicken was covered in sauce and pretty much the whole plate, the sauce was basically Demi glaze with a few slices of mushrooms which was very disappointing. My steak which I ordered as medium was clearly not 300g, more like 200g I cut in to the steak to find in was raw inside so I asked them to correct it. When they returned the steak it was cooked to well done and very dry. The sauce was extremely salty and again Demi glaze with a few peppercorns in it. The waiter did come back and ask if everything was okay reluctant to say it wasn’t good as the steak was well overcooked I said the food was okay. This was probably wrong for me to say but I was worried because the steak was so bad what they would bring back a third time. When the waiter came to take the plates, he asked how the meal was. I explained that the steak was very dry and overcooked after they made the mistake of a raw steak. He then rolled his eyes and said you ate the steak so it must have been good I then explained that the sauce was extremely salty to which he said no it is not salty. I have seen it. He then became rude and walked off. I couldn’t believe what had just happened. The waiter then came back and offered us a drink free of charge on him and said he was sorry but to be honest with how rude he was we chose not to have another drink and asked for the bill. The bill came with the full charge which we were expecting as he was very rude Needless to say, we shall not return to this restaurant and unfortunately would not recommend other people to experience the...
Read moreOur flight was delayed over 5 hours and we have arrived to Gozo super late (after 23:00) and super hungry looking for anything to eat. All shops and restaurants were either closed or closing and we thought that it was time to prepare ourselves for six or seven long and hungry hours only to eat something in the morning. But then we were fortunate enough to find Yummy yummy. The restaurant was also closing with most of the lights turned off already and tables cleaned. We asked if it was still possible to have something to eat, but we were not hoping for much. The owner gave us a table and the menu and said that they will prepare whatever we want from the menu, because even though the restaurant was closed for the day, he said that Yummy yummy’s mission was to feed people when they are in need. We ate a lot and it was delicious. I highly recommend everyone to visit this place and it’s lovely hosts, as it’s people like in Yummy yummy that make this world a...
Read moreWe ordered two vegetarian dishes from the vegetarian section from the online menu (via a courier delivery). But both dishes weren't vegetarian at all, as both had chicken. As such both dishes had to go in the bin. Totally unacceptable. I understand mistakes happen but these were ordered specifically from the vegetarian section, hence this is such a bad mistake to make. We also have been unable to get a refund. Very disappointed!
Update....just had response that they confirmed that the 'vegetarian section' does contain chicken!!!! And that we should have added a note for our 'dietary preference'!!!! What!! Not eating meat is not a 'dietary preference' and why should we have to add a note that we don't want meat in a dish that's in the VEGETARIAN SECTION!!!!
So no refund for us because we didn't specify in the note section that we don't want any meat in a dish that's listed as a vegetarian meal.
WHAT A DISGRACEFUL RESTAURANT. AVOID...
