I’m not sure if this restaurant is just having some issues recently, but I wish I would have seen some of the recent negative reviews before I stopped in.
I got food poisoning last night from their sashimi plate. The salmon was tasty but there was obviously something wrong with the tuna. I should have sent it back, but I felt bad and just ate it. It smelled… okay, just extra fishy, but the texture was way off and it was really dry and pretty chewy. Like it was old or left out for too long. They were also out of their “white fish” which leads me to think they don’t get deliveries often, so they may not be going through their sashimi grade fish fast enough.
I was on the fence about posting a bad review, if I hadn’t gotten sick, I wouldn’t have posted at all. I VERY rarely post bad reviews, and I’m sorry to the owners for having to post this. But after being sick all night (this was the only thing I ate past noon) I couldn’t, in good conscience, not let other people know.
The service was a bit slow, but the staff were very friendly. I was really excited to eat here, but just can’t recommend others do. Or if you do, plan to order...
Read moreOrdered a samurai platter as take away, and it was by far the worst sushi we've ever ordered. Even the ready made ones from lidl are more authentic. 90% had absolutely no fish/ seafood and even with the veggy fillings they were stingy. The majority were made of flavourless rice wrapped in nori sheets, and fragments of carrots or random stuff. Unheard of... horrible.
Edit: To the Owner- if you take pride in the quality of your sushi (I believe the pride part but definitely not the quality part) - Please order from ANY sushi restaurant, and compare them to yours... eat them side by side... compare the freshness, the texture, the flavour, the smell, the fillings, the fish quality ... even your wasabi was OLD disgusting, yellow-green. Just thinking of that experience makes me want to vomit. We had to give the sushis to our chickens thats how...
Read moreI recently celebrated a birthday dinner at Osaka in Msida, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The staff went above and beyond – without us even asking, they decorated the space around our table, which was such a thoughtful surprise and instantly set a lovely atmosphere. We were also greeted with a welcome drink on the house, a small touch that really made us feel special.
The food was delicious and very reasonably priced, with generous portions and plenty of variety to suit everyone at the table. What stood out the most though was the service – attentive without being intrusive, and genuinely friendly throughout the whole evening.
All in all, Osaka made the birthday dinner feel effortless and memorable. I’d happily go back anytime, whether for a special occasion or just a...
