King’s Gate Gastropub — Restaurant in Msida

A very nice experience eating in this place for lunch on Thursday 31st March. It has a very English pub style which puts you in a relaxed mode upon entering. The waiter and the owner were very welcoming and professional. As starters we shared meatballs and chicken popcorn. Moving to the main course we both took pulled pork burger both with extra chips and ketchup. Last but not least was the dessert (apologies because I forgot to take a photo and i realized when we ate them!!!) We took a tiramisu, chocolate fondant and a cappuccino. Large sparkling water and a bottle of Coca Cola where the drinks taken.

I think I ate the best Caesar salad ever in this restaurant! Served in a bowl-shaped tortilla with very rich ingredients. The portions are huge, I had problems finishing it. The second time we visited I tried the bacon burger which was decent but far from the best I've ever eaten - I liked the freshness brought by lettuce and tomato, but the meat could've been tastier and I prefer classic pickles over a bit too sour gherkin. Burgers come with fries but we switched them for sweet potato fries - which had a very nice taste, they were a bit mushy. Best Burger I've had on Malta, by far! I've tried the Bacon Cheese, but they have multiple choices, incl. vegetarian options. Not only is the burger delicious, but the price/quality relationship is phenomenal. The fries are freshly made, crispy, on point and have their - which I personally love. The staff are extremely friendly, the neighborhood nice and quiet, there's a very cool Happy Hour for cocktails from Mon-Thu (I'm sure you can find it on the menu), the outdoor seating area is fantastic (has parasols and plants), the indoor is charming (nice decorations and plenty of plants) and has a huge flat screen TV that was broadcasting F1.
