Really bad service here. We arrived at 1730 on a Monday. The place had 3 other tables occupied. We were taken to the smallest table at the back near the exit. There were loads of other empty tables around but they chose the worst one.
When our food arrived we couldnt even get the plates to sit comfortably on the table despite ordering only a single pizza to share.
I asked to be moved to a different table and was greeted with blank stares from the 2 people in the kitchen. Someone else a bit further in motioned for us to come to a different table and then just stood there. No one moved or attempted to help us move our plates, food or drinks.
The pizza was ok but nothing to rave about. Firstly its massive but beyond that was fairly plain. We had the ham, fig and goats cheese. The ham and goats cheese was really nice but the figs could barely be tasted. The chilli oil, which we had to fetch for ourselves was flavourless and the bottle was broken so you got oil all over your hands trying not to pour it out all out over your plate.
Im left wondering how this place gets a 4.3 rating. Its certainly not worth it.
We have now had to asked for the bill 3 times and the card machine twice. Its been 25 minutes and we are still sitting here no closer to being...
Read moreMy husband and I stumbled on the spot cafe by accident, it's the best accident we have ever had. We stayed in Mauritius for 14 days and ate a the spot cafe for 13 of them. It would of been 14 but they close on a Wednesday. The food is outstanding, everything is freshly made to order, the chief Michael is amazing. The staff are very approachable and friendly, the service is fantastic. If I could give more than 5* to this cafe I would. We will leave the spot having had they most incredible food and leaving having made 3 new friends that we will defiantly be staying in touch with. We hope to return to Mauritius in a few years and know that the spot cafe will only go from strength to strength. To avoid disappointment head straight to the spot cafe, don't waste your time or money anywhere else. Thank you for looking after us during our two week stay all at the spot cafe. Many many thanks...
Read moreThe atmosphere was nice and the catch of the day very good (as it is everywhere as it’s standard for Mauritian kitchen). My mistake was ordering a parmegan French fries as I hoped it would be cheese sticks, not regular fries sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. So we ended up with a decent fish and a ton of fries and a cherry on top was a sweet and chilli sauce which I take as a joke to put on a plate with a freshly grilled fish or even with the fries. I don’t think they rationalize the kitchen, the visitors satisfaction or the cultural experience which is in this case “0”. The staff didn’t ask anything, they seemed rather bothered. For such service and quality of the kitchen the price is...
