Botanic Resto — Restaurant in Isle Mauritius

Actually this place doesn't deserve even one star. It's one of the worst places we have ever been to. Let's begin to say that the place looks shady and yet we were lured into coming as the owner came and basically collected us from the street. We were in the mood for something vegetarian and no meats.

So we asked for rice, vegetable curry, 2 pieces of bread per person. We awaited 45 minutes and nothing....they filled us with bread and chili. Finally we wanted the check and then they came running with burnt bread 1 for the whole table (not 2 per person as requested) cold rice and tasteless package made curry with over boiled vegetables and no flavor.

Let's understand the following dear readers..... Indian cuisine is all about flavor. These people was a funny fake disgusting copy cat of anything far from resembling the good old Hindi food I am acquainted.

Finally they gave us the bill...never took anything off the bill and charged us 30 euros at the end....bare in mind fellow readers that we actually did not eat the food we ordered as it was disgusting.

DO NOT COME TO THIS...

I was so angry because I was taking my visitors there, bragging about the most delicious curry I had eaten there in 2016, only to find the resto has changed ownership or management. The food was appalling and over-priced. No value for money, no aesthetics. I should have walked out without paying but as foreigners, we did not want to offend the local restsurant. I have had good experirnces in other Mauritian restaurants though, but this Botanical resto will put others to shame. I hope the local municipality closes this establishment down. It is bad news for...

J'ai lu quelques avis datant d'un an, et je suis très surpris, car le resto est propre, la cuisine est délicieuse et le rapport qualité/ prix est très correct. Certes, il y a une " rabateuse" ( comme exprimé dans plusieurs mauvais commentaires) , qui est en fait la fille du cuistot et qui est très sympathique. La vie pour les Mauriciens n'est vraiment pas facile ( salaire moyen entre 250 et 300 €) et coût de la vie proche de la France. Cette jeune femme fait son job devant le parc en faisant de la publicité pour son restaurant et ce n'est pas du "Racollage". Celles et ceux qui se permettent de juger et non de commenter devront réviser probablement leurs avis en ayant un peu de compassion pour les peuples qui n'ont pas la chance d'être nantis comme nous le sommes en Europe.
