I recently dined at Empereur resraurant and unfortunately, it was far from enjoyable. The lack of customer service was evident from the moment we walked in. There were only two staff members on duty,a waitress and a chef, both of whom appeared to be in their 60s. While I understand that small establishments can be challenging, the service we received was subpar.
The food was overpriced and simply not worth the money. I ordered a dish that came with a side of chili paste, which clearly had gone bad, showing signs of white mold all around the walls of the bowl and floating in the paste. It was disgusting. When I brought this to the waitress's attention and asked for a fresh bowl, she returned with the same chili paste, insisting that the white substance was just the seeds of the chili. We were grateful to be warmly invited to the Emperor restaurant at a time where many local kitchens were closed on a Sunday evening at 2100.
We ordered appetisers of a samosa's, with mains of Chicken and cashew, grilled Parrot fish and a side of vegetarian noodles with two glasses of red wine.
The portions were generous and tasty. With one order of samosa consisting of 10 small samosas!
Service was friendly, quick and very happy to adapt to our requests.
One such example was our order of a Pineapple split. Asking for the tropical fruit soaked in rum before being cooked to have a little less sugar and served with coconut ice cream was a perfect pinacolada like dessert to end...

The tablecloths were dirty, flies everywhere and the waitress was as if forced to...
