A long one but hopefully covering everything!! ||The hotel was fantastic overall and we had a fabulous stay! A few points let the hotel down hence the 4* rather than 5! ||Staff were friendly on the whole- except a couple of staff who were seen kicking and throwing a rock at the stray dogs who roamed about the site. Once raised with management this staff member was not seen again and we were assured training would happen to stop this happening again. The dogs on site are overall quite friendly but understandably quite shy till they recognise you, then they want to be your best friend and one even tried sitting on my lap- the most beautiful brown and black girl! If you don’t like dogs just tell them no and they go away. ||Staff round the pool were friendly and bought us drinks- although these could take 30-45 minutes some days other days came within 10 mins!. We never really struggled to get a sunbed by the pool, the adult pool was always packed though. There was always a spot on the beach if we couldn’t find one by the pool.||Le Marche Restaurant staff were friendly and the restaurant was super clean and not your average all inclusive messy buffet. The drinks however left a lot to be desired, at times we asked in excess of 3 times for the same drinks round only for them to not come. A better system is needed for serving drinks and seating guests as one morning we had 2 members of staff trying to find us a table and then we will waited 10 minutes to be asked if we wanted coffee!! ||Staff in the al a carte restaurants were slightly better. Tides was fantastic at both lunch and dinner and can be booked daily if you wanted! drinks were sometimes a little wait there but not as bad as le Marche or sapori. Tides food is good sized portions and everything we tried was amazing!||Sapori was really tasty food but again disorganisation of the staff let it down massively. One day it took nearly an hour to have an antipasti starter and pasta main! And we had to request drinks several times for them to be served. Chopsticks seemed to suffer from the same disorganisation, several times we were asked if we wanted wine topped up/more water and each time we were left without for quite a while. The food however was fantastic and super tasty! ||Hasu was fantastic- we dined there and had the share platter between 3 adults as a starter then 3 of the mains (the beef/chicken/lamb and one portion of rice). All were extremely tasty and beautifully served. The cost when we worked it out was actually considerably less than say chopsticks (£120 in hasu compared to over £300 in chopsticks had we not of been all inclusive!) definitely worth a visit if you like fish/sushi! ||Shores was the main entertainment venue in the piazza, however after 8pm there were never any tables. Whilst the piazza is beautiful as it is when it is windy or raining sitting around the outside of the bar is a no go! More seats around the piazza would be greatly welcomed. The music can however be extremely loud! Although the singers and bands were all great. We did however realise that the tides bar is also open till 10pm and the atmosphere there was more chilled and relaxed and service was much quicker for drinks as there were less people there! ||Check in was relatively smooth- there was about 7 groups checking in at the same time but we were seated and bought a cold flannel and a drink whilst we waited then shown to our room by the staff whilst our bags were taken ahead. Check out was easy and quick and we were able to get a meal for lunch and drinks till 3pm at no extra cost. They have a departure area with showers and towels/shower gel/hair dryers etc which was super useful- although very busy the day we left but still able to get sorted. ||The beach was stunning as was the adult pool, both of these you had a button on the umbrella to request drink service but the time we used it it took about 20 mins for them to take an order then about 25 for the drink to come! ||Hotel was clean on the whole, pool could do with a bit of updating- the mastic man came to replace some tiles but this was quite messily left although impressive to be free diving down to do it. ||Rooms were clean on the whole and the housekeeping staff were friendly and popped by of an evening to check if we needed the room refreshing. We were in rooms 149 & 152 which were the premium rooms, the beds were super comfy, the mini bar was refilled daily as well as new water bottles - ambient and cold. Included on the AI was fizzy pear juice, phoenix beer, apple juice, milk, chocolate, nuts and cereal/protein bars. There was Ample wardrobe space and a bath shower and toilet all separate and a double sink. Only comment on cleanliness was the bed sheets had tea stains on them when we arrived which was a bit disappointing but after 24hrs being awake we couldn’t be bothered to get this changed and they were changed the next day without us asking. ||The grounds of the hotel were well kept and swept constantly, the nature walk with the lovely marine biologist (apologies can’t remember her name!) was very interesting, but it possibly could be a little quicker when no children. The glass bottom boat with her was also really interesting and worth doing. The snorkel trip was great also! All of these included for all guests! We also did parasailing through the boat house which was around £50 for 2 people, even though we needed to go separate due to being a bit to heavy together. This was a lot of fun and highly recommended!||We did the Wednesday E-bike tour to Flacq market with Kenny who was super friendly and stopped at various points to explain about lots of different things like tamarin, sugar cane and mangos! Thank you Kenny for a lovely afternoon! Other than this we didn’t use the gym or lengths pool but it looked clean and tidy! ||The aqua at 11am with Tony was super fun as well! Gets you moving and wakes you up! ||The spa was very clean and beautiful, we all had a massage- myself and my partner the Mauritian massage and my MIL a hot stone. I had the 90 min massage and would highly recommend it! I can’t remember any of our therapists names but they were all amazing and helped us to feel super relaxed!! Only down side was myself and my partner weren’t able to have a massage at the same time, which would’ve been even nicer! ||We didn’t book trips through the rep (summertimes for BA) as we found them a lot more expensive than Viator/get your guide. We booked horse riding direct with Legasea Stables and the hotel arranged us a taxi for 5;30am which was a good price and on time to take us. ||We never left the hotel on foot so can’t comment on the location walking wise but it was a good point to explore the north of the country and not too windy despite being the end of the winter! ||Overall we would return to long beach &...
Read moreWe travelled to Longbeach in mid-June 2025 and it was absolutely the perfect two-week honeymoon for us. We had never visited Mauritius and had never visited any 5* all-inclusive before and it was the best decision we ever made. From the start, our online encounter with Jioty was very professional, prompt and helpful with every email we sent making arrangements for bookings. This continued when we met receptionist Poojah in person on arrival – she was so helpful, positive and personable and made our visit so much better when we had to make changes. When we entered our room, it was pristine, comfortable and luxurious. We were very lucky to be offered some honeymoon gifts which included some artwork prints of the hotel, a 20 minute “Come Alive” head, neck and shoulders massage for two in the Glow spa (absolutely incredible and so relaxing) and a special dinner for two in the Tides restaurant by the beach. It was so welcoming and special and we felt like kings. We met Cynthia and it’s no understatement to say she made our holiday – every day we saw her, she knew our routine, knew our order, greeted us with so much fun and honestly, we didn’t lift a finger! She looked after us at the Tides bar around the pool and by the beach. We also met Muddoo on the management team who was fantastic and really took the time to get to know us. Another Tides bartender was Harishwar – the biggest smile and best service in Mauritius! Brilliant people and an asset to the hotel. We also met the lovely Sarah who was so kind to us and always chatted with myself and my husband. In the evening, we visited the Shores bar in the square – here we first met Avi, an absolute legend. He recommended a beautiful sparkling wine for me which I enjoyed for the rest of the holiday and every time we visited the bar, he greeted us with the biggest smile. We later met Kumar, Vicky and Angelo who were all just as brilliant and really great fun. Our first night’s meal was at Le Marche – a very varied, tasty and well catered buffet; the perfect relaxed environment after a 12-hour flight. Everyone was so friendly and the food was delicious. We returned later in the week nearing 10pm but the staff still looked after us even though we were the last people in! The breakfasts here had absolutely everything you could possibly need or want – it was fresh every day. Samia and Corine all really made our mornings with a bright energy every day. Our second night we went to Sapori, the beautiful Italian restaurant by the square – we first met Mithun here and later and later Jashriya who were wonderful hosts and made sure our evenings went flawlessly. The food was delicious – the best Spaghetti Bolognese I’ve ever had – the pizzas were light and tasty with varied flavours and the desserts were out of this world. Our third night, we visited chopsticks for the first time – a fantastic menu and really great variation of flavours! When I had fallen ill (nothing to do with the hotel conditions) later in the week, the Chopsticks restaurant brought an order to our hotel room and it was just as hot and fresh as if we were sat in the restaurant – we were so grateful for their service and help! Our first visit to Tides restaurant by the beach was so special, we had a personalised menu as part of the honeymoon package and a lovely evening with fantastic seafood. Raj from the management team, really took the time to chat to us and continued the wonderful welcome we received. We returned to the restaurant 3 more times and tried parrot fish, tuna steak, capitaine and a beautiful steak on our last evening. Yashvin was a wonderful server whilst we dined and we loved every second. Overall, it was an extremely special experience, a once in a lifetime trip and it was made exceptional by its wonderful people and impeccable service. Thank you so much to everyone we met, we are grateful...

We stayed at Long Beach Hotel for 10 days as part of our honeymoon. The resort offers a mix of highs and lows. While the service and dining were definite highlights, the room quality and general upkeep left room for improvement. Here's a breakdown of our experience:
Dining
Sapori (Italian Restaurant) This quickly became our favorite spot. We ate here nearly every day. The food was consistently good, and the atmosphere relaxed and welcoming. A special mention to Chloe, who was kind, professional, and made each visit feel personal.
Hasu (Japanese Fine Dining – Not Included in All-Inclusive) We dined here twice, and both visits were exceptional. Hasu is not part of the all-inclusive package, so it comes at an extra cost, but we found it absolutely worth it.
Our first visit was a wine-tasting dinner with five beautifully crafted dishes. The food was excellent, and the service was top-notch. Special thanks to Shivanee, Emilien, Antish, Essen, Nadeem, Ritesh, and Rohan – all were very attentive and service-minded. Rohan in particular stood out during our entire stay with his warm and helpful attitude.
Our second dinner at Hasu was the best of our whole trip. Chef David prepared an unforgettable salmon belly dish flambéed at our table – full of flavor and theatre. The service again made us feel truly special. Thanks to Emilien, Antish, Shiuani, Essen, and once again Rohan for an outstanding experience.
Tides This restaurant was underwhelming. The service was decent, but the food was mediocre at best, especially compared to the quality at Sapori and Hasu.
Room
The room was spacious and offered plenty of storage, which was great for a longer stay. Unfortunately, the overall condition of the room was disappointing. It felt damp and humid, and there was a persistent musty smell. The air conditioning was difficult to regulate, and the room showed many small signs of wear and tear. Most concerning, the cleaning standards were clearly below expectations. Surfaces weren’t thoroughly cleaned, and the bathroom felt neglected. We also had a constant issue with mosquitoes inside the room, which made sleeping uncomfortable. This aspect of the stay really needs improvement.
Spa
We visited Glow Spa three times for couples' treatments and were very impressed. The therapists were professional, skilled, and created a calming atmosphere. Every visit was a pleasure and absolutely worth the extra cost.
Facilities and Weather
The weather during our stay was not ideal – windy and mostly cloudy. Unfortunately, the resort does not offer many sheltered areas for sunbathing when the wind is strong. The adults-only pool was peaceful, but the number of sunbeds was too limited, and it was almost always full. One positive feature was the food and drink call buttons available at the beach and pool, which made it easy to order without leaving your spot.
Final Thoughts
Long Beach Hotel has a lot to offer, especially in terms of its restaurants and excellent staff. Sapori and Hasu gave us some of our best dining experiences. Staff like Rohan and Chloe made us feel truly welcome and taken care of. However, the quality and cleanliness of the rooms did not match the standard of the service, which was disappointing for a resort at this level. If these areas are improved, the hotel could offer a much more balanced and premium experience.
Would we return? Possibly – but only with better weather and in the hope that the rooms and housekeeping standards have been upgraded.
Tips for Future Guests
Reserve Hasu in advance – it’s not part of the all-inclusive, but it’s a must-visit.
Don’t miss the Glow Spa.
Bring mosquito repellent.
Avoid windy seasons if you want to enjoy the beach and pool...
