Good nice place to take a no rush breakfast. Food is well executed with a hypster style menu that combines ancient mexican herbs and recipes with the new trendy mexican food style. Place is totally hypster detailed, from the floor tiles, the iron squared windows and fine wood-iron tables that seem to be handcrafted in a local artisan shop that are not happy to accommodate more than 4 people, or to be honest a couple and a dog. They wouldn't make a coffee and milk (lechero) coffee drink as simple as it sounds, but i get it, its out of the ordinary even when they make a swimming goose in the coffee crema of your capuccino. Barking dogs and old boston glass water bottles are a must, all part of the experience. Staff, some very nice, our waitress not that accommodating. The coffee still needs to be polish, high notes of acidity that outstand even when mixed in frothy milk, probably the extraction method is being to rude with it, it has good body and texture, but i have had better ones in many other places. Chilaquiles were correctly executed, not to dry not to wet, they come holding hands in a swinging motion with pork's belly at "carnitas style"; these last well shredded on a black thick bed of black beans that softens the bite of the very well crispy tortilla or totopo.
Dont come in big groups (more than 4), you will break the place balance, it is made for no more than 4 , you will have to wait, it is what it is.
Generally speaking a very good proposal to start a good sunday or kill a nice brunch with...
Read moreFood was very good. Unfortunately the waitress forgot to put one of our orders through the system so there was a long wait between our meals coming out which was disappointing as we ended up eating separately.
When I checked the receipt I noticed I had been charged 120mxp for green a juice which was 50mxp on the menu. When I queried this I was told that there were two green juices but only one was on the menu, and that I had ordered the 120 juice (despite it not being on the menu). Three separate people came and explained this to me before they eventually agreed that I should only pay 50. They brought the receipt back over and they had changed the charge to 60, which I just paid. Felt like some sort of scam; doesn’t make any sense to charge something that isn’t listed on the menu. Not sure if it was because we were tourists but was disappointing, especially after the bad...
Read moreMy visit to Cafe Palreal in Guadalajara left much to be desired. The food, unfortunately, fell below my expectations, with offerings that were decidedly below average in taste and presentation. It seemed like a missed opportunity for a culinary delight.
The service, while not notably poor, failed to leave any lasting positive impressions. It was a functional experience, but nothing about it stood out as particularly special or attentive. The lack of exceptional service added to the overall mediocrity of the visit.
In conclusion, Cafe Palreal might be an option if you're in need of a quick bite, but for those seeking a memorable culinary or service experience, there are likely better choices in the area. The cafe has room for improvement to truly stand out in the competitive food scene of...
