TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! When we first arrived the hostess was going to sit us between the men's restroom and stage. We asked to be seated elsewhere and she did, but didn't seem very happy about it and said "I have many reservations" and left. Then came out waiter, FER, he gave us a booklet and suggested a group platter, since we wanted to drink something different than what came with the platter we ordered individual plates and now he didn't seem very happy about that... It all started going down hill from there, we got our plates and drinks and after that he didn't bother asking us if we wanted something else to drink, we had to keep calling him when he was at the adjacent tables and when he would only ask two or three people from our table what they wanted and ignored the rest. At the end of the night we were very unhappy with the service and just stopped trying to get his attention for drinks. When the time came for the bill, we asked for two separate bills and he gave us our numbers which didn't add up, when we questioned why there was a difference he basically said that it was the gratuity which was already included in the total (which was 20%). We got even more upset because he was adding a 20% gratuity and provided terrible service. If you don't pay attention they will take advantage of you. I believe that the gratuity is optional and reflective of the type of service received, if any. The performances were great! Loved the mariachi and dancers. Another thing is that the tables/seats a too close together and does not leave much room in case of an emergency, but other than that ok. Would I recommend it? If the rest of the staff is like FER and the hostess at the time, I would definitely NOT RECOMMEND it, there are other places out there. Customer service should be their bread and butter since it's the image that we the tourist...

Meh. Went on a Tuesday night. Have been in GDL since past June, and since I am soon leaving, I decided to try this place. It was one of the first ones that popped online when I arrived but seemed like a tourist trap, so I ignored it. And I should've stayed away. I am a solo female traveler. The place is nothing impressive once you look past the gazillion piñatas. There were only about 30 patrons when I arrived (the place can easily seat 300), but I was sat on the edge of the salon, by myself, right where the walkway is. If the place was full, I would understand, but it wasn't. Every two seconds someone walked or worst, stand right in front of my table, obstructing "my view" which was barely the bouncing heads of the dancers (when I was lucky to not have a totally blocked view). I asked if I could move to another spot, but was told no. Again, plenty of tables were empty. My server had very little knowledge of the menu and mad attention deficit, making me wait excessively while he went back and forth for what he had missed. Lastly, servers stick the menus inside the back of their pants. Gross!!!

If you are looking for an authentic Mexican experience with live mariachi, dancers, and a beautifully decorated setting with tons to admire in addition to a curated, still authentic and delicious menu go to Santo Coyote only two blocks away -especially if you are traveling solo, they wont put you in the back corner so you can bore...

My husband and I were recommended this place to celebrate getting married and visiting family in GDL. The waitress seemed a little distracted, the drinks were good. As for the food and management, RUN. My sister and I ordered arrachera cooked to medium. My husband and 17 year old niece ordered chicken fajitas. My youngest niece ordered chicken tenders.

When I received my steak I couldn't help but notice the quality was poor and the steak was cooked to rare. I addressed the concern with my waitress and she agreed to take it back so that the kitchen staff could fix the issue. Once it returned, I was complete grossed out by the rubbery, pre-packaged texture that I chose not to eat it. My sister felt the same.

My husband offered me a piece of his fajitas to try and I immediately noticed that the piece I bit into was raw. That prompted my sister to check my youngest niece's tenders. COMPLETELY RAW. Absolutely disgusting and unsanitary.

When we asked to speak to someone in management, a man came over with a terrible temper and refused to apologize for the raw, low quality meat we were served. He continued to get into it with my dad, sister and uncle at the table. Poor customer service and no consideration for the five year old and two adults out of a table of 11 that did not eat at all considering prices and high risk of food poisoning. Proceed with caution when choosing to eat dinner here, we learned...

Me, my boyfriend, and a friend went here on a Thursday evening at 9.30 p.m. It was almost full—not quite, but getting there. All of us were so surprised that the service was slow, the waiters didn't quite give us the full experience. If one person at the table wants a new beer, don't take that order, and immediately turn around, the rest of the party wants to order more as well. When I’m scrolling through other reviews, I think our night was exceptionally slow because every other review states that the service is quick. Their service mind and kindness were good, not great, but good enough. We had a molcajete and fajitas, it was ok—no flavor sensation really. The Panela cheese I do recommend is a combination of mozzarella (in the melty stringiness) and halloumi in the similarity of texture, but not quite as salty. I would recommend going here mainly for the mariachi show and the lovely dancing. As aforementioned, the service and food were okay.
