If your accomodation doesn’t have access to the lagoon this is a perfect spot for you. Entry fee was very inexpensive. You get access to changing rooms, a restaurant, bar, slides/amusement area, souvenir shop, and there’s pontoon tours that take you around the lagoon. The food was surprisingly delicious! And big portions too! The margaritas were made with fresh lime juice. There is an older gentleman that sings and plays the keyboard welcoming guests and interacting. He was adorable. This place is perfect for kids. They can run around freely and you can sit under the shade, eat tacos and drink beer and whatever you want. Service was excellent- and fast! If your expecting peace and quiet - you won’t get it at any of the semi-public lagoon launches. Stay in your resort. There’s lots of locals, Mexican tourists and foreign tourists. It was a great experience and glad we came even though we did have access via our hotel. Just nice to go out and experience new things.

I really recommend this 'balneario' in Bacalar. I really enjoy the locals vibe and the national tourist vibe. I ordered a large mixto ceviche, a pitcher of limonada, and chips. It was very delicious. The water of the lagoon was very clean and warm. The best part of the balneario was the diving platform. The water level was deep enough for me not to hit the floor. It was easy for me to jump off because I know how to swim, and I'm 6'1ft tall. I know that some of the locals were cautious when jumping. This place has happy vibes. The DJ was playing excellent music, and he gave us a shout-out. This is a great all-day place for swimming, music, and food. We paid 50MX, and you are allowed to bring in coolers for a nominal fee. There is plenty of paid parking.

It's an affordable and good place to enjoy a day at the lagoon. It is not as fancy and chic as many of the newer places for tourist at the lagoon. But prices for food and beverages are mich better and they have a lot to offer. Hammocks and swings in the water, little platforms to jump off and of course collectivo lagoon tours. It would do the place good to get a bit of love and renovations here and there. The big slides are out of order. But over all it was great and we came back twice. Awesome for kids.

Balneario Ejidal Mágico Bacalar is truly one of the most special places in town—a hidden gem that offers breathtaking access to the lagoon without the crowds or high prices of some of the other spots. If you're looking for an affordable, beautiful, and peaceful way to enjoy the magic of Bacalar, this is the place to go.

From the moment we entered, we were struck by how clean, well-kept, and welcoming the space is. The staff at the entrance were friendly and helpful, and the entry fee is incredibly reasonable considering what you get—crystal clear waters, shady palapas, wooden docks stretching into the lagoon, and plenty of space to relax, swim, or just soak in the view. It never felt too busy, even during peak hours, and there was always a quiet corner to enjoy.

The water here is unreal. Those iconic seven shades of blue? You can see them all from this spot. The color changes depending on where you stand on the dock, and there’s nothing like diving into the cool, clear lagoon with the sun overhead and gentle breezes blowing through the trees. Whether you want to swim, float, kayak, or just sit on the dock and do nothing at all, it's perfect.

We also appreciated the local, community-oriented vibe. It didn’t feel touristy or over-commercialized—it felt like a place where locals and travelers coexist, sharing a space that is loved and respected. You can bring your own snacks and drinks, and there are shaded tables and spots to picnic. There’s even a little restaurant and bar on site if you want to grab a cold cerveza or a plate of ceviche between swims.

What we loved most was the peacefulness. It’s family-friendly, laid-back, and full of natural beauty. No loud music, no chaos—just the sound of water lapping, birds singing, and kids laughing in the distance.

We ended up coming back more than once during our stay in Bacalar. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel grounded, calm, and connected to nature. Don’t skip this balneario—it’s called mágico for...

OMG!! The worst service ever!! They sat us down 15 mins we asked a server for service he said it wasn t his area. We did this with 3 other servers same answer...1 and 1/2hours go by and i go talk to the administrator. She was very helpful sent a server right away. The server takes order and OMG people that came after us were getting there food. An hour later and our food is no where in sight. I go talk to the adminstrator again and she talks to our server. He brings our food all of it was cold!!! We put in a 2nd order for more people in our party ask admin to supervise she said no worries. That food arrived hot and 15 mins later. I m not going to lie food was delicious but not worth the stress and time lost. Recommend the lake it s beautiful but do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else before...
