Best meal in Los Cabos - what an incredible hidden gem.

We discovered this brand new restaurant when looking for a place to watch the Super Bowl as they had TVs and boy, are we glad we came. The food was unbelievable, the drinks were delicious, and the service was second to none. Raul, our waiter extraordinaire, was gracious, kind, and explained everything we threw at him. Which ranged from Spanish translations, to dealing with my severe food allergy, to letting me take home the Chocolate Clam shells.

We ordered the first time: Chocolate Clams, Guava Margaritas, Taquitos (18 mini rolled tacos with marlin, potato, and chicken) - sinfully good, the Octopus Tacos (beyond amazing), and Snickers dessert (layers of chocolate, peanut butter, and caramel). The atmosphere was so fun for the Super Bowl, filled with locals and a few visitors like us. They gave out free Tequila shots and it was a blast.

We loved it SO much that we cancelled our last night reservation at another restaurant and returned for Valentine's Day. This time we ordered repeats (Chocolate Clams, Octopus Tacos) in addition to a Moroccan/paella sort of dish with fish, octopus, and shrimp, as well as, fish ceviche and the LARGEST fish dish we had ever seen. Drinks this time included Dragonfruit Mezcalitas and Pina Coladas. Raul was our waiter again this time and the whole service staff welcomed us back like old friends.

Between the incredible food, creative cocktails, and outstanding hospitality, this place is not to be missed. I have added it to all my guidebooks for the area and will be sending future friends, family, and...

We were vacationing in San Jose de Cabo and went fishing. We caught several sierra fish and had them cleaned and cut up at the pier. We dropped them off at this restaurant and asked them to prepare them for our dinner later. We told them to have the chef just “do his thing “. OMG! What he prepared was unbelievable!!! Absolutely amazing! He made cheviea , several kinds, blacked fish, etc etc. The courses just keep coming out! There were 10 of us and we took a bunch of it home. It was a meal to remember. And the staff and service was remarkable! We had like 5 servers waiting on use. Extremely helpful and professional. Most all spoke perfect English. David, our head waiter, was a pro. And the best part was the prices were very reasonable! We vacation in San Jose every year and eat in some of the best restaurants in town. This place is the best. We will be back...

I don’t know how to rate this restaurant. It’s not the first time I’ve left there unhappy. I stopped in to get a drink while I waited for my carry out from nearby. Ordered a margarita, it was good but in small tumbler glass, cost $230 pesos (about $16 US), big balls of ice cubes in it so not much drink. I charged bill and said I’d pay tip in cash. Handed her $100 pesos and asked for change in Spanish, she didn’t acknowledge so I repeated, still didn’t acknowledge, she went to register so I thought she’d bring it, no. I may go back again to order one and stiff her and tell her...

This is the kind of restaurant San José had been missing. Traditional Mexican food, beautifully executed, with excellent service as expected from a member of the Ruba family. The ambiance is also thoughtfully curated. For the first time in my life, after enjoying nearly one hundred Chiles en Nogada, I ordered two different styles in a single meal. Chiles en Nogada is one of the most iconic dishes in Mexican cuisine, and it can be prepared in two ways: "capeado" (battered) or unbattered. I tried both, and my recommendation is the unbattered version.

We had a group of 6 for dinner on a Monday night in August. We arrived around 6:45pm and were there for about two hours. We opted for the omakase dinner, which included 7 dishes for I think 550 pesos per person. The food was great, the service was very attentive, and we really appreciated the fact that they were happy to serve us a 7 course meal on a slow night during the slow season. We had a great time and we were impressed with everything. I wish I had taken more photos of the dinner.
