I’m vegan and I enjoyed a beautiful lunch at this picturesque place with my husband. The salads on the menu didn’t excite me, so asked the server for “otros platos veganos” and he told me they had a lot of possibilities that are not on the menu, including portobello al pastor tacos and veggie quesadillas. I went with the portobello al pastor tacos and they were excellent. The tortillas were delicious and they seemed homemade. The filling had more than just mushrooms, not sure what but it was flavored nicely and really hit the spot. I’m not sure why they haven’t added this to the menu. It was just 3 tacos with no sides; next time I’d probably add a salad or guacamole. La Moringa is part of Casa Tara, a yoga retreat center, but the restaurant is open to the public. The setting was stunning on this property that sits right above the ocean. Prices were quite reasonable for this high level of service, great location and quality of food.

We had the best experience at La Moringa. We came for dinner at sunset and we’re blown away by every second. In a place with taco shops up and down the road, there is another level of attention to detail and care here. We enjoyed cocktails and wine - both were top notch. Our food was delicious. As vegetarians, we had plenty of options and the staff really cared about making us food we would enjoy. But what took our breath away was the level of service from the staff - they were friendly, knowledgeable, and hardworking. As we walked away, bellies full, we were already talking about returning for breakfast tomorrow. This is a must for travelers.

Terrible service and food. I waited 50 minutes for the food. Which I'm ok with... but the coffee and OJ came 25 minute after the food arrived.... I asked 4 times for the coffee, when the coffee was ready only needed to be poured to a mug. The food came dry and warm, not hot. When you come into the parking lot you can smell the bathroom... and that is too bad because this place is beautiful. I loved the set up, the pool, view... but that's it. All the rest just took all that beauty and tossed it to the trash... Find another place... not worth it.

Our first experience at this restaurant was amazing, our female server was excellent, attentive with amazing service and the food/drinks were superb. Can’t say the same about our second visit.

We came back the following night (tonight 4/29/2025) and the evening started off great with the original female server. The food was still good but once the server switched over to the male working, it was horrible.

This server was obviously heavily intoxicated, to the point that between us and one other table at the entire restaurant, he couldn’t figure out whose order was who’s. Once that was sorted, I asked for another glass of wine, and my Spanish isn’t good but he said directly to me “you want another glass?” In English to which I said yes. Didn’t see him again for 30 minutes when he brought our check, and my friend and I both said we were still waiting on that glass of wine, to which he immediately said “No” and handed us the check but when we both said again “No we asked for another glass of wine and we haven’t gotten it yet” he responded slurring “oh yeah I forgot”

20 more minutes pass and we finally decide to just leave because it’s clear the glass of wine isn’t coming. He seated another table and was taking their order as we decided to leave so it wasn’t an issue of closing time. At the check out he continued to ignore us as we said we were ignored and that no we didn’t want to leave a tip, we had heard him speak perfect English to other customers so there was no issue of not understanding what we were saying, my friend is also almost fluent in Spanish and he didn’t “understand” what we were saying then either. He was blatantly ignoring us and talking over us, talking to the other male working (who I almost asked to check us out instead as he didn’t seem drunk at all). We finally left with leaving the lowest amount of tip possible, and even though this server was obviously hammered while on the job, he knew what we were saying and was choosing to blatantly ignore us.

Bummer to end our vacation on this note. We left the restaurant about 15 minutes ago so it shouldn’t be too hard to figure out which...

Casa Tara our review after we went back a 2nd time!

Wow!!!!!! This winter I have eaten over 150 restaurant meals in La Ventana (because we rented a room without a kitchen). This meal was our BEST! It’s a must. Can’t wait to go back again. We were asked back to the restaurant for them to show to us how good they really were and boy did they do that. We had a tuna tartar, a lobster dish, a grouper dish and deserts. Everything was perfectly cooked, the best sauces, and service was again over the top.

Our 1st review was not amazing but they invited us back to prove themselves and that they did! Big time! It’s an experience you have to have before you...
