Mariscos La fogata — Restaurant in Baja California Sur

Extremely rude staff. Yelled at us for bringing outside beverages because we brought a sippy cup of water for our toddlers. Food ok but small portions and don’t offer variety of condiments others restaurants in the area offer. Also tries to scam with exchange rate when paying with dollars. Some how leaving $35 on a meal that cost $30 was too little.

Plus the owners let their dog beg for food at customers tables. Cute dog but so unprofessional and unhygienic for a restaurant. So many better options...

We all (3) ordered Red Snapper. To give us a price they first had to call a local grocery store! All of our orders were totally overdone (deep fried and tough like jerky). To me, it also smelled "fishy". The place had been recommended to us by a local gal, as a local place. Bummed. The appetizer chips and salsa were very good, as was the accompanying lettuce salad. We should have said something but didn't want to be "ugly Americans". I hope it was just an off...

The place offers free wifi, so we came here. I had some food and was able to get some work done in the shaded dining area. It's on the main road, which is convenient and can also provide entertainment. The ceramics in use are beautiful.
