If you're looking for authentic, delicious Indian food in a cozy, unpretentious setting, look no further than this small, unassuming restaurant. Tucked away in a corner of the city, this little hole in the wall serves up some of the most homely, comforting biryani around, with a side of top-notch service to match.
The restaurant itself is small, with simple decor and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Reminds me of Goa. But don't let its humble exterior fool you - inside you'll find some of the most flavorful and satisfying Indian cuisine you'll ever taste.
The biryani is a standout dish here, with perfectly cooked rice and tender, succulent meat, all seasoned with just the right blend of spices to make your taste buds sing. And if you're not in the mood for biryani, the menu offers plenty of other tempting options to choose from, like rich curries, crispy pakoras, and fragrant tandoori dishes.
But perhaps the best thing about this restaurant is the service. The staff here are friendly, attentive, and always happy to help you navigate the menu and find the perfect dish to suit your tastes. Whether you're a seasoned Indian food aficionado or a newcomer to the cuisine, they'll make you feel right at home.
Overall, this is a fantastic little gem of a restaurant that's well worth seeking out. The food is excellent, the service is outstanding, and the cozy, homely atmosphere is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a...
Read moreOrdered carryout over the phone on 12 February 2022. Pleasant bilingual service (fluent English). Got chicken vindaloo for 215 pesos (approximately $10.50 USD) and an order of aloo paratha for 81 pesos (approximately $3.94 USD). Grand total 296 pesos (~$14.44 USD before tip).
In the USA, your Indian entrée comes with rice automatically included in the price, virtually without exception. Here, a side of plain rice will run you an extra 4 bucks USD (81 pesos). Further, in the US, when you order naan or paratha as I did, you almost always get multiple pieces (2 or 3, in my experience). Here, a 4-dollar side of aloo paratha was a single piece, however it was thick & substantial.
With all the above being said, I was delighted with my meal. When I ordered I asked for a spiciness level 8 out of 10 on the vindaloo and specified that I wished to sweat but not to die. Perfect heat level. I would have liked a slightly larger portion of aloo paratha relative to the price-point. You will be hard-pressed to find Indian food at all around here, much less Indian food of this quality. The price reflects this, but it's still reasonable by American standards.
I would gladly eat here again, and one of the owners was kind and friendly in chatting with me whilst I waited....
Read moreI would not recommend this place for indian food for these reasons listed below: we ordered paneer tikka and onion pakora for appetizers but received chicken tikka instead of paneer; onion pakora was super oily and hard to eat entrée was naan, daal and jeera rice. Naan was very dry and jeera rice was super oily (we would see the oil in the bottom of the serving dish) after the server took our appetizer order (which was messed up in the first place), she sat down at another table and had her dinner as well. We had to call the server from the kitchen to place our dinner order there was a language barrier as well since the servers didn't understand English and my Spanish was basic.
Overall I think the food and service could have been better if there was supervision from the owner. I was really looking forward to eating indian food tonight but did not meet my...
