Pizza Gourmet San Antonio at El Sargento — Restaurant in Baja California Sur

Forgot to take some pics. Pizza, salad, limonada and glass of wine for my better half. Verde Salad was excellent, fresh crispy lettuce, sliced apples and grapes, perfectly dressed with obvious house made dressing. Made with intent.

Pizza is insanely perfect! Chef/owner working the oven tonight. Dough is sourdough aged 100 hours. You can tell it’s aged by the lovely tight crispy crust and soft yet crispy edges with a chewy texture holding up to the perfect mix of ingredients (we had the Romano). I mean this pizza will certainly challenge any in the states and probably stand up to many in Italy. The dough/crust doesn’t even need toppings it’s that good. The mozzarella is not your typical sweet buttery Mexican mozz, it’s the real deal.

Nice olive oil, balsamic and crushed peppers to accompany it. Limonada was fine, the glass of wine was perfectly robust and smooth.

$43 after splitting the salad and pizza with my wife. Perfect dinner and good price for the quality. Do try the Apple strudel with vanilla ice cream. It’s a great, not overly sweet finish.

Garden setting, music not too loud, nice lighting. Not your typical El Sargento pizza. Well worth a visit.

We will be back again for “pizza night”.

This place is a fun hangout and the owners are super friendly and courteous. We got treated to a live performance by an amazing band that did covers of rock favorites. The pizza was really good. The Del Mar which has marlin was my favorite. As everyone else has pointed out it is quite pricey which is why I'm giving them three stars. We were wary about going here because of some rude reviews, but don't listen to them! Our waitress was very sweet and the pizza was delicious. And the service was fast--we got our food quicker here than any other restaurant in La Ventana. Also, I don't know where people came from who think it's expensive because you can barely get a drink at any US city for the price of one of their amazing pizzas. And it's dog friendly!
