Pizza Nostra — Restaurant in Baja California Sur

We went to Pizza Nostra recently and as I hate to criticize a new business, they are a chain, they should know better. We were impressed with the view on the patio, but not the apple crates they call table and chairs. I realize the other Nostras have the same quality furniture, but with such a nice location, with tons of expats driving right past, you would think they would want to make it comfortable. The staff were like zombies, not a smile to be had there. They seemed to have zero training. We ordered beers, as warm as I would expect from the 30 year old Coke cooler they came out of. We ordered the mussels and clams. They were very poor. The wine sauce had a flavour that seemed like it was intended to offend. They were also only warm. I regret not sending them back. The pizza we ordered was pretty good, we’ve had the same one at the other location, it was better. The pros were that it was not expensive and the view. I can’t see ever going back there. The Pub next door is way better, I only wish they had Pizza Nostras spot...

The only thing going for this place is the view. Came with my husband at 6:30 and no other customers. Waitress took our order of 2 pizzas and drinks and that’s it. Kept waiting for food, had people get their take out pizza and we didn’t get ours. We were constantly told ‘uno momento’ for ours. After 40 minutes my husband received his undercooked pizza and I was still waiting for mine. The staff was just talking and having a good time and I told them it was unacceptable to wait that long for a simple pizza. I paid for our drinks and 1 pizza and was even asked if I wanted to give a tip? Seriously? Never got my food. First and...

Swing and a miss. I have had wonderful experiences at this property in the past and was truly disappointed with my last visit. My wifes mushroom fettuccine was sitting in a cm of water. I had the seafood linguine, which was the star of the table and nothing to write home about. It was tasteless and appeared to be pizza sauce with a few pieces of seafood mixed in with the pasta. The thin crust pizza was similar to a frozen grocery store pizza. There was no cold beer or mixed drinks available.

I hope they return to the quality food and service...
