We’ve been locals in Cabo for about five months now, and Cabo Grill Shop was the very first place we ever ate when we arrived. That first visit left us so impressed with both the quality of the food and the service that it quickly became one of our regular spots. We usually go a couple of times a month, for either lunch or dinner, and we’ve brought countless friends and family here when they’ve visited. The staff knows us by name, and we’ve always appreciated the warm atmosphere.

Unfortunately, our most recent visit left us truly disappointed. This time, we were in the mood for breakfast and decided to order to-go. We called in our order for blueberry pancakes and banana bread French toast and were told it would be ready in 15 minutes. When we arrived, there was an issue with their card system repeatedly declining our payment—even though we had just used the same card minutes before. The owner was gracious enough to let us take the food and sent us a payment code through WhatsApp, which worked fine.

The problem was the food itself. The blueberry pancakes were extremely thick and dense, undercooked in the middle, and topped with some sort of sauce instead of being served with syrup on the side. The sauce made them soggy and, unfortunately, not enjoyable. The banana bread French toast had the same issue—it already had syrup poured over it, which is never a good idea for a to-go order. It was also severely undercooked, to the point where I had to finish cooking it myself on my griddle at home. While the flavor was good, the slices were far too thick; two massive pieces would have been much better as four thinner slices.

After making the payment through the WhatsApp link, I also took the time to share our feedback with the owner. Unfortunately, she never responded. Given how much we’ve supported this restaurant and the many positive experiences we’ve had in the past, this lack of acknowledgment was disappointing.

We’ve always enjoyed Cabo Grill Shop and recommended it to others, but this last visit left a bad taste in our mouths—literally and figuratively. Cabo has no shortage of excellent dining options, and sadly, I’m not sure if...

I have been 3 times now, and for the record I am writing this review in hopes they can fix the issues. First off the people are polite. The food is mediocre, the service from the waiters are ok but it does take a long time to get food, even when they were not busy. 40 minutes for an omelette and eggs Benedict! But my main concern was the amount of flies while waiting flies were all over the table some tables have devices to get them away we did not. They would land on our food, our glasses, are legs, or hands, are silverware, and it was very very annoying. I understand the place is outside and it happens but this was excessive and made the experience not good! I do hope they can figure something out only because it is a neat little place and the...

Under rated. The owner doesn’t care about reviews. Or what people think when they people read them. I’d like to write a nice review. He deserves it, but he doesn’t care. So. But. And. Sit at the family table in the bar. And order the mezcalita. And his pies. Pecan. Every single plate. And we’ve eaten through the menu. 3 nights in a row. Last time I did 3 nights in a row it was an obscure restaurant run by 4 passionate chefs bored with big restaurant food who moved to a tiny village on the coast North of Barcelona. Good luck.

Great food including all the Mexican favorites like chilaquiles and huevos rancheros, juices, coffee, and a full bar. Their avocado burrata toast is excellent and the red juice is a personal favorite! Micheladas are great with breakfast. Open air with a whole area for the kids to play while you eat is an excellent idea. Service is good and it's just a quick walk from the Vista Vela condos. My group ate here several times during our stay in Cabo San Lucas and it never disappointed. Definitely stop in for a bite! 🌵
