The wife and I decided we wanted to try something new. Steakhouse da Pietro didn't have 1000 reviews but everything we saw was positive. The restaurant is located in a newer (less than 2 years old as of October 2023) and upscale mall. We sat down around 7pm and left around 830. From start to finish the food quality and service professionalism was way above any expectations we had. Martin was our primary server and he is a great guy. He has spent many years in the USA and his English is probably better than his Spanish. ;)
We ordered the da Pietro salad as a starter and shared the Tomahawk steak. The Tomahawk includes asparagus, whole mushrooms and various peppers and onions as included sides. We opted to add the Mac n' Cheese. It would be difficult to make a fancier or more delicious version of the classic Mac. We highly recommend adding that as it makes a great starch side with loads of cheese dipping sauce for the steak.
The dessert was good. We opted to try the chocolate brownie with a scoop of vanilla. The brownie was very good BUT it would have been 1 star better if it were warmed before serving.
Our dinner was excellent. The service was as good as one can ask for. The location has no view to speak of and there is no DJ blasting ear shattering music. This made for a very nice experience as the wife and I were able to simply enjoy a great dinner together. This place is surviving on high food quality and great service which in Cabo has been the exception for us lately. We've found most waterfront restaurants here survive on their view alone. Right from the beginning Martin greeted us with a warm smile. His attention to details ans desire to provide the best experience is amazing. No pressure very knowledgeable and patient. Same goes for the Sommelier who presented a wide selection of wine. He took the time to listen to our preference and pick an amazing red wine at a very reasonable price. The tenderloin was much larger than in Canada 6 or 8 onze and was the BEST steak we ever had anywhere, well seared on the outside, exactly as desired, juicy medium rare inside, and SO SO INCREDIBLY TENDER! Thick steak fries were great, mushrooms are a must with the steak and the roasted asparagus were just right with a bit of resistence when bitting into them. The New York cheese cake was fresh, of good size and very creamy if you still have room.
