Truly exceptional experience! Don't be fooled by the fact this lovely, quaint, hidden gem of a restaurant lies in a residential neighborhood. That just adds to the perfect atmosphere of the courtyard you'll be dining in. A family operated establishment without question, but the food... oh but the food! My wife and I shared almost everything we ordered from apps to dinner... although I was a bit stingy with my filet mignon entree' cooked to perfection! But let's not forget the starters of scallops in garlic oil served in individual mini-cups and avocado gazpachio. Then, an excellent Caesar salad prepared table side by our lovely server Sandra. An excellent bottle of Malbec that complimented both my filet and my wife's rack of lamb. Finally, a cafe americano and a shared dessert of flan. Even though we are not well acquainted with SJ del Cabo dining scene, we are foodies, and believe we just had one of our most memorable dining experiences in years. Cheers to the staff...
Read moreMy wife and I were looking for a place to eat on the last night of our vacation. We wanted a place that was different than the regular fare and atmosphere. The waitresses were very attentive and answered our questions about the items on the menu patiently. Unlike other places that have a large list of choices, here there were maybe ten entrees We chose the Chateaubriand for 2. They obliged us by cutting the meat in half and cooking well and medium rare. The meat was delicious and tender. We finished our meal with the warm chocolate cake, great. All who worked there were friendly and made us feel welcomed. Highly recommend for atmosphere and...

Now that we are into the hot summer period (June-September) El Matador has restricted dining days, just email or call to find out if they will be open the night you want to go.
Location is a bit out of the tourist area, but GPS takes care of...
