This was truly an amazing meal. We had gone fishing earlier in the day and caught a big Mahi Mahi, so we took it back to the resort to find someone to cook it for us, we were not disappointed to say the least. I think Chef Carlos and the rest of the staff were just as excited for this as we were! We got to the restaraunt and had a three course meal waiting for us! Drinks, chips and guacamole, fried Mahi tacos, grilled Mahi steaks with grilled veggies, salad, and finally Marscapone cake and Tres Leches with Pistachio. Everything they brought out was perfect, mouth watering, and complimented the other dishes wonderfully. The staff were all extremely attentive and sweet, we even got to take a picture with everyone at the end of our meal. I have no clue what happened to warrant these other reviews, there is not a single part of my experience that wasn't above expectation. There are many good restaraunts at the Hacienda Del Mar, but overall this was by far the best....

While the breakfast buffet at Tomatoe offered a nice selection of food, the service was abysmal. Our waiter displayed a smug attitude when we requested basic items, such as a spoon for soup and coffee in a porcelain cup.
Throughout our meal, the waiter was inattentive and seemed put off by our requests. When he did attend to our table, he would carelessly drop items, rather than placing them down nicely.
What's more, it was clear that he was providing better service to a younger table nearby. When we politely tried to engage with him, he responded with rudeness.
To express our dissatisfaction, we chose to leave a zero-tip. As we were leaving, the waiter rushed to the front desk to report this to the agent, essentially calling out his own subpar performance. It was unprofessional and only reinforced...

To put it simply, it's not really worth the price when you could pay just a little more for WAY better food. I will say the staff was very nice though. Although, it took a while to get seated and the hosting practices leave a bit to be desired.
If you just want a bunch of food without a limit, this isn't a terrible idea. There are a few really decent offerings. The ceviche wasn't bad and they had a chili marinated chicken that was pretty good too. Other than that I couldn't recommend anything else I tasted.
The majority of the food seems like it's low quality catering type food. I wouldn't go back unless they updated the recipes or offerings quite a bit. I would be much happier with less options that were higher quality and more...
