Birrieria El Cuñado — Restaurant in Baja California

We love this place! It is on the ocean side of the road heading south on the free road just passed the Popotla Pemex. We were always used to eating carne asada tacos in Mexico and tried this place thinking they would have it. They informed us that they only do carne asada after 3 PM, but that they always served "Birriera" (slow cooked beef, served like shredded beef). We tried it and have been hooked ever since. Even my picky little girls love it. My son gorges on "Quesa Tacos" - quesadillas loaded with meat inside. Prices are reasonable and the place, albeit "hole-in-the-wall" always seems clean. The birria here is absolutely amazing. The meat is juicy and the broth is perfect. My family and I have been coming here for years and the food remains just as delicious. If you are not interested in eating a bowl of birria, you can always get a birria quesadilla (corn or flour tortilla). You can ask them to no put the condiments in your food as they prepare it and prepare it at your table where they have a container with all the condiments. Era mi birrieria favorita, pero esta última vez que fuí y ultima, fue una experiencia horrible: nos sirvieron la birria en orden, pero no nos dieron las tortillas junto con la comida, para esto ya le había pedido que ALGUNAS tortillas fueran doradas, normalmente en todos lados te dan algo de tortillas para empezar a comer, después de un ratito de vernos todos las caras incluso otro empleado se percató que no empezábamos a comer por falta de tortillas, mi acompañante le dijo que para cuando las tortillas? y el grosero del tortillero molesto y de mal tono dijo que las había pedido doradas y todavía exigente que se estaban dorando( por sentido común y atención al cliente debió habernos dado algunas tortillas para empezar), encima la birria estaba fría y sin sabor y la salsa ya olía a echada a perder(era la última que quedaba en los recipientes pero no es justificación); nos dieron las tortillas empapadas de aceite (más de lo normal) y sin dorar.
