The restaurant is beautiful! The staff greet you warmly upon arrival. Parking is pretty good. All the people spoke English and are very attentive. The ocean view from the terrace was nice.
The QR menu didn't work. Paper menus had about half the options on them so we really didn't get to look at many things I likely would have ordered. We found this after we ordered.
My wife ordered sushi with shrimp tempura. The shrimp were tiny and the roll was mostly rice. Otherwise it was fine. Sushi sauces were pretty good.
I ordered seared tuna with veggies. The veggies were great! The tuna was terrible. I had to dunk it in any sauce I could find to get it down. Honestly it looked like they took a package of tuna steak from the grocery, rubbed it over the grill a couple times and put it on the plate. It was not fresh. It was cold.
Latte was pretty, but had way too much cinnamon sprinkled on top. The cinnamon was in balls rather than a light dusting.
Price wasn't terrible but not great for the quality of the food. If the food were of better quality it could be...
Read moreLoved everything about this place. It is beautiful. The concept and lay out of the restaurant are well thought out and executed. The staff was great! We went yesterday for the first time and all the staff was amazing. Our waiter was very funny and kind. The bartender was so helpful and taught us a lot about mezcals and other alcohols. I wish I was able to remember their names to give them a shout out because they made our experience great! The rest of the staff also was very helpful and accommodating. The food was delicious. We got the aguachile con callo y camarón, the Mac and cheese and boneless chipotle wings. I don’t know which one I liked more. They were all good. Drinks were very good. Great choices and descriptions. The location was a bit odd in the middle of a neighborhood, but it worked out. Being kept off the main strip and all the noise made it very relaxing. They’re not beach front but they are about a block away and do have a view of the oceans. 10/10 would recommend and we plan on coming back with...
Read moreI'm finally getting around to sharing my long overdue review of Casa Rey in Rosarito. My brother and sister-in-law, JL&M, took my wife and me to this delightful restaurant near the beach a couple of months ago, and it was an absolute gem.
From the moment we stepped inside, we were captivated by the inviting ambiance. The restaurant was beautifully decorated, with a clean and relaxing atmosphere that made us feel right at home. The service was impeccable; the staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel like royalty.
But the real stars of the show were the food and drinks. Every dish we ordered was a masterpiece. The flavors were bold and fresh, and the presentation was exquisite. The drinks were equally impressive, expertly crafted and perfectly balanced.
If you're ever in Rosarito, Casa Rey is an absolute must-visit. It's a hidden gem that offers exceptional food, service, and ambiance. We can't wait to go back and experience...
