I been to Rosarito several times and this has been my worst experience ever! To begin with, this place is a total rip off. When I booked my hotel room, I booked it for two people. The description never said that if I brought additional people with me I would have to pay and additional fee. Point is that I brought two extra friends with me (so four of us total), and they charged us $167 US dollars for my two friends to stay in my room. This aditional fee was totally unnecessary because I should be able to bring in whomever I want into my hotel room. Plus do they think I would book a villa with 3 beds for two people? Secondly, the hotel room amenities were lacking. The television only had two channels, there was no iron in the room, and no WiFi; they said that there was an additional fee for a room with WiFi. Lastly, the staff members were extremely unprofessional. On Saturday morning they knocked on my door on several occasions because they forgot to give me papers to sign. After I took care of all the additional paperwork, I got ready and left the room for my day activities. One of my friends returned to the hotel early to take a nap, and to his surprise the hotel room key was not working. He goes into the hotel office to ask what the problem is, and they say that they needed to speak to me. I had to leave the venue that I was attending and return to the hotel immediately. When I arrive, the staff informed me that we had been locked out of our hotel room because allegedly my bank had cancelled and refunded me the money for the hotel reservation. They wouldn’t let anyone of us into our room to get any of our belongings unless we paid them more money. I called my bank, and they confirmed that the transaction had been processed and that the hotel had charged my account. After showing them my bank statement, they still wouldn’t accept the fact that they had charged my account already because according to their accountant my bank had canceled the transaction and refunded my money and that they could not honor the proof that I had because on their end the money was never paid for. So in order to retrieved our belongings, we had to pay once again our two night stay fees! We were so disappointed with the lack of customer service that we left as soon as we paid. Needless to say the ruined my vacation, and I will never stay nor do I recommend anyone to stay...
Read moreMy friend and I came here last weekend. Checked out on Sunday and I got my full security deposit returned to me on Wednesday ($600). ||||||Arriving:||Now that’s out of the way, I called them on my way down to mention I was running late. There wasn’t an answer but they did call me back even though I didn’t leave a message. About 5 hours later (still on my way), they called asking for my credit card because their office is closing and they need to process the security deposit. When I arrived (9pm), security was waiting for me with my hotel key. I highly recommend to Google map the entrance before you arrive so you have an idea of how to find the hotel. I did this beforehand but there’s currently road construction. When looking at the Chevron from the street, to your left is a mall plaza with a gate at the parking entrance. Thats where you’ll find security for the hotel who will guide you through. Just tell the taxis to drop you off at the Chevron when you initially get in the taxi from downtown. The locals don’t even know about this best kept secret! ||||Overall:||We paid for an upgraded room because I thought it came with a jacuzzi. It didn’t (there’s two community jacuzzis). Everything inside looked sparkling clean and new. Security was really friendly and did their jobs really well. Felt very safe and slept well at night with the windows open. The view was spectacular and right on the beach where it wasn’t crowded. Very quiet area. They have private groomed beach with free games you can play (cornhole, soccer, volleyball, football, etc). Leave the windows open to feel the ocean breeze. Don’t listen to the reviews here. Most likely competitors are trying to deter guests from staying here. Either that or huge families with crazy kids tear everything up end up being charged. Again, inside looked CLEAN with granite counter tops and new appliances. Dishes, utensils, etc are also in the drawers. Snacks, drinks, and toiletries have marked up prices (typical). The liquor store in the plaza and chevron are both a 2 minute walk. Downtown is a 15-20 min walk. Bringing a guest back will cost $35 - much cheaper than all exclusive resorts in other cities. You don’t like this, you can stay at a 1 star motel instead. Rosarito has plenty. This villa is a diamond in the rough. I’ll be...
