Kept hearing that Mexicali has amazing Chinese food so we decided to come check it out. Dragon restaurante is up the street from the hotel we're staying at so it was a good start.

I gotta say I'm pleasantly surprised. The food tasty, fresh, plentiful, fairly authentic and was quick to come out. My wife and I ordered 1/2 orders of everything. Coconut chicken ($125 MXN), somewhat l sweet with real coconut shavings on top, Mongolian beef ($170 MXN), this dish has great flavor and love the spice, veggie fried rice ($105 MXN) the fluffy kind of rice and not oily, Napa soup ($150 MXN) basically veggie broth soup that could've used a little more flavor but still yummy.

Service was super fast and everyone was very helpful. The owner, I'm assuming he's the owner (older Chinese man), walked around like a politician mingling with everyone. Definitely a family friendly place that I would bring my family too.

Only downside is the parking. There is about maybe 50 spaces in the parking lot and the parking spots are small.

I think my favourite part of this restaurant are all the Cantonese uncles trying their best to make you feel comfortable. Our uncle was super friendly - gave our daughter cookies, told us all the best dishes. The food is distinctly Chinese-Mexican, with a hint of the Cantonese flavours you would eat from mom and dad at home. I forgot leave a review for this place. I was here last year. I’m not a fan of Chinese food but I heard it’s the best here so I had to try it. It’s super clean and the service is on point.
